Extermination #1 first print variant cover above. Extermination #1 second print “variant” cover below.
The second print label is now just under the variant cover label in the top left. This is a new approach as previous examples included prominent variant cover label at top and muted bottom second print label like the below for Fantastic Four #1 and their Big Spoiler reveal on the second print “variant” cover.
However, a recent Thor #3 second print cover only has second print prominently displayed and no reference to variant cover in the label or on the cover anywhere that I can see.
We’ll see how consistent Marvel in this approach of transparent and prominent co-labeling of Second Print and Variant Cover. Maybe Extermination #1 second print “variant” cover is an anomaly? We’ll have to wait and see.
