A fiery plane crash on Friday night in West Columbia, S.C., killed four people, while the two survivors, former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and L.A. club staple DJ AM, were critically injured.

The two had just performed together (under the name TRVSDJ-AM) hours earlier at a T-Mobile-sponsored free concert at the nearby University of South Carolina, and were on their way to Van Nuys, Calif., aboard a charter plane, when the accident occurred. According the airport officials, the plane was accelerating for takeoff around midnight when air traffic control reported seeing sparks coming from the bottom of it. The plane—a Learjet owned by California-based charter company Global Exec Aviation—never managed to get airborne, instead plummeting off the end of the runaway and through some antennas and a fence, before coming to a stop on an adjacent highway and bursting into flames.

Among the four people killed in the accident were the pilot and co-pilot, as well as Barker’s assistant and bodyguard. Barker and AM (né Adam Goldstein) were taken to a nearby medical facility in Augusta, Ga., where they were in critical condition on Saturday morning. Doctors later told reporters that both men had suffered second- and third-degree burns—Barker on his torso and lower body and Goldstein on his hands and head—but were expected to fully recover.

When contacted by reporters, Global Exec Aviation had no immediate comment on the accident. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
