But once again, they change almost the entire lineup in hopes that they can find the winning formula. Here is a look at their new schedule:

The CW FALL 2013 SCHEDULE
*New programs in UPPER CASE; all times ET*

MONDAY

8:00-9:00 PM — Hart of Dixie
9:00-10:00 PM — Beauty and the Beast

TUESDAY

8:00-9:00 PM — THE ORIGINALS
9:00-10:00 PM — Supernatural

WEDNESDAY

8:00-9:00 PM — Arrow
9:00-10:00 PM — THE TOMORROW PEOPLE

THURSDAY

8:00-9:00 PM — The Vampire Diaries
9:00-10:00 PM — REIGN

FRIDAY

8:00-9:00 PM — The Carrie Diaries
9:00-10:00 PM — America’s Next Top Model

Of course, this lineup doesn’t include three other new mid-season shows which will be put on the schedule in the Spring wherever it is needed. This includes STAR-CROSSED, THE 100, and FAMOUS IN 12. Also, Nikita will come back at some put for its FINAL 6 episodes.

Don’t expect 90210, Cult, Emily Owens or Gossip Girl to be on The CW, though, because they have all been cancelled or have finished their final seasons!

Anything on here that YOU will be watching?

The Final Four round voting has ended and there was no suspense. The two couples moving on to the final matchup ran away with the vote and never looked back. So lets see what happened in the Final Four round action.

In the first Final Four matchup, Neal Caffrey and Peter Burke from White Collar finally eliminated David Sawyer and Brian Collins from New Normal. Both couples dominated leading up to this matchup. But David and Brian were the real underdogs surprising everyone in this tournament with high margin of victories throughout the tournament. But this time they lost by a fairly wide margin. Neal and Peter won with 71% of the vote.

In the other Final Four matchup, the Glee fan base fell off the map. They had been the most passionate fan base when it came to Kurt and Blaine. But after Vincent and Catherine from Beauty and the Beast BARELY defeated Kurt and Blaine last week by just 10 votes, the Glee fans just didn’t show up for Santana and Brittany this week. The Beauty and the Beast fans did put up a strong showing, though. The end result was Vincent and Catherine winning with 98% of the vote!

We are now down to the final 2 couples. Vincent and Catherine look to be unstoppable at this point, but Neal and Peter have surprised many throughout the tournament. Will the Beauty and the Beast fans continue their support or will White Collar fans band together and make one last surprising push? This is it. The final round has arrived.

If you don’t know what this is all about, go back to the First Round Voting Page, Second Round Voting Page, Third Round Voting Page, Fourth Round Voting Page, Quarterfinal Round Voting Page, and Final Four Round Voting Page, and get all of the details there. If you did vote in the previous rounds, you should already know, so go check out the updated bracket for yourself by going here:

The Quarterfinal round voting has ended and the votes came in fast and furious. Over 10,000 total votes came in for this round alone. One matchup came down to the final seconds. Which couples are moving on to the Final Four? Lets break down the Quarterfinal Round action!

The final matchup in the ABC Region featured an interesting contest between Neal and Peter from USA Network’s White Collar, and Dean and Sam from The CW’s Supernatural. Neal and Peter led for the majority of the time, but a late push for Dean and Sam almost changed that. In the end, though, Neal and Peter were able to hold off Dean and Sam by just 30 votes. Neal and Peter advance to the Final Four.

The FOX region saw David Sawyer and Brian Collins from NBC’s New Normal take on Lily and Marshall from CBS’s How I Met Your Mother. This one was really no contest. Like they have done the entire tournament, David and Brian pulled off another upset and defeated Lily and Marshall with 63% of the vote.
That was by far the largest margin of victory from this round of the tournament.

The CBS region featured the most intense matchup of the entire tournament thus far. Kurt and Blaine from FOX’s Glee went back and forth with Catherine and Vincent from The CW’s Beauty and the Beast. These two couples have had the most passionate fan bases of any in this tournament, and this matchup proved that once again. Once all of the votes were counted for, only 10 votes made the difference. Catherine and Vincent pulled out the narrow win and are moving on to the next round.

Finally, the NBC region saw a relatively close matchup between two couples from two different FOX shows. Santana and Brittany from Glee ultimately knocked out the last remaining seeded couple, the #2 seed Jess and Nick from New Girl. Santana and Brittany won with 54% of the vote.

We are now down to the final 4 couples. There are no top seeds left. But these four couples have had the largest followings and vote totals in each round. Lets take a closer look at the Final Four match ups.

In one matchup, we have a cable show couple vs. a major network couple battle. The couple from NBC, David Sawyer and Brian Collins, are only in its first season. Can Brian and David continue their run through the tournament against the duo from White Collar who have been working together for four seasons already?

In the other matchup, it was almost an All-Glee semi-final. But instead it’s Catherine and Vincent
facing another Glee couple. Can Catherine and Vincent defeat Santana and Brittany or will the Glee fans join together and put all of their support behind Santana Brittany now that Kurt and Blaine are no longer in the tournament?

If you don’t know what this is all about, go back to the First Round Voting Page, Second Round Voting Page, Third Round Voting Page, Fourth Round Voting Page, and Quarterfinal Round Voting Page, and get all of the details there. If you did vote in the first five rounds, you should already know, so go check out the updated bracket for yourself by going here:

2013 Inside Pulse Best Television Show Couple Tournament Bracket

Remember, when you do place your votes in this tournament, you should always vote on who is the best TV couple RIGHT NOW. Some of these couples have been around for years, but some are brand new. This is not an All-Time tournament. This is as of right now, who is the best. And remember, what you are really voted on is which relationship is the best for that show? If you took out these characters from a show, would it be the same? If it wouldn’t, that is who you would vote for.

One last note on the voting controversies. I have no problem with multiple votes from the same person. But if I see multiple votes from the same computer or same location within a short amount of time, I will adjust the results accordingly. I don’t want the results to be skewed by a bot or anything else like that.

Now on with the matchups and let the voting begin!

The fourth round voting has ended and we have our first voting controversy! At the last minute, hundreds of votes came in for one TV couple. A TV couple that was down by a couple hundred votes a few days earlier was suddenly a few hundred votes ahead in a short amount of time. After looking at the logs and seeing that there was a little bit of scamming involved, I have adjusted the results for one matchup. Lets breakdown all of the round of 16 action!

The ABC Region is where there was controversy. The #1 seed, Castle and Beckett, was losing the entire time to Sam and Dean from Supernatural. But then suddenly in the final day HUNDREDS of votes came in from a couple of computers in a matter of minutes. This greatly skewed the poll results. So when I went back in and eliminated the duplicate votes from these computers, the final result was Sam and Dean pulling off the upset and winning with 60% of the vote. Surprisingly, the other remaining seed in this region, the #3 seeded Elena/Damon/Stefan from The Vampire Diaries, also lost by a even wider margin to Neal and Peter from White Collar. They won with 70% of the vote.

The FOX region also saw the two remaining seeds losing. First, Lily and Marshall from How I Met Your Mother crushed Marge and Homer Simpson with a 70% margin. Even more surprising was the #2 seed, Blair and Chuck from Gossip Girl, losing to David and Brian from New Normal with 79% of the vote.

The CBS region only had one seed left. Of course, that seed lost as well. This time it was closer as the #7 seed, Troy and Abed from Community, lost to Kurt and Blaine from Glee with 55% margin of victory. There was a late push by some Community fans, but it wasn’t enough. In the other matchup from this region, it was a battle of Disney animated movies turned into live-action drama television shows. This was a close battle throughout. But after adjusting from any potential scammers, Catherine and Vincent from Beauty and the Beast still was able to pull out the win with 57% of the vote.

Finally, the NBC region saw the closest match ups from this round. The #2 seed from this region, Jess and Nick from New Girl, somehow avoided the upset though. They are the only seed left. They defeated Jay and Gloria from Modern Family with 59% of the vote. Finally, only 32 votes separated the matchup between Santana and Brittany from Glee and Sheldon and Amy from The Big Bang Theory. There was a late push for Sheldon and Amy, but in the end, Santana and Brittany held them off and won with 51% of the vote.

We are now down to the final 8 couples. Only one of them was seeded to begin with. But all 8 of these couples have had a rabid fan base throughout this tournament. Most of them have won by large margins. Now is where we will see which couple can keep their momentum going.

If you don’t know what this is all about, go back to the First Round Voting Page, Second Round Voting Page, Third Round Voting Page, and Fourth Round Voting Page and get all of the details there. If you did vote in the first three rounds, you should already know, so go check out the updated bracket for yourself by going here:

The third round voting has ended and after thousands of votes, we had even more upsets. The biggest upsets were TWO #1 seeds losing. Lots of fan campaigning online has made this tournament even more interesting as we head into the “Sweet 16″. But first lets look at what happened in the third round voting!

The ABC Region lost another seed, but that was inevitable since it was the #1 seed Castle/Beckett taking out the #8 seed, the girls from Pretty Little Liars. Castle and Beckett only won by 57%, but that enough for them to be the only #1 seed left in this tournament. Dean and Sam from Supernatural were the big winners in this region as they beat another CW couple from Arrow with 80% of the vote. Neal and Peter from White Collar, and the #3 seed, Damon/Elena/Stefan from The Vampire Diaries, also cruised to victories with nearly 70% of the vote each.

The FOX region also featured a #1 vs. #8 seed battle. But this time the #8 seed, Homer and Marge Simpson, defeated the #1 seed, Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley from The Office. It was close but the oldest couple in this tournament won with 57% of the vote. Besides losing the #1 seed, the #3 and #5 seeds from this region also lost! In fact, Lily/Marshall from How I Met Your Mother easily defeated the #5 seed, Steve and Danny from Hawaii Five-0, with over 80% of the vote. Brian and David from New Normal also had about the same margin of victory over the #3 seed, Derek and Meredith from Grey’s Anatomy. The #2 seed, Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl, ALMOST went down as well. But they were able to hold off Peter and Olivia from Fringe by 21 votes!

The CBS region also lost two of its top seeds this round. The big one was a close battle between #1 seed, Brennan and Booth from Bones, and Prince Charming and Snow White from Once Upon A Time. Only 7 votes separated them, but in the end Snow and Charming pulled off the BIG upset. The other top seed losing here was the #3 seed, Barney and Robin from How I Met Your Mother, getting blown out by Kurt and Blaine from Glee, who won with 80% of the vote. The #7 seed, Troy and Abed from Community, has a close fight with Shawn and Gus from Psych, but Troy and Abed eventually won with 55% of the vote. Catherine and Vincent from Beauty and the Beast also continued their run through the tournament by defeating Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Joan Watson from Elementary with 69% of the vote.

Finally, the NBC region lost another top seed, but we have come to expect that from this region. Sheldon and Amy from The Big Bang Theory easily defeated the #8 seed, Dexter and Deb from Dexter, with 80% of the vote. The #2 seed, Jess and Nick from New Girl, had the largest margin of victory in the entire third round. They beat Andy and Sam from Rookie Blue with 84% of the vote. Jay and Gloria from Modern Family, and Santanna and Brittany from Glee also won by comfortable margins to move on.

As we head into the “Sweet 16″ round, there are only 6 of the top 32 seeds left. There has been lots of fan support among the 10 “unranked” couples that have propelled them this far. But now is the time where they start to face off against each other. So even though there aren’t many top ranked couples left, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any interesting match ups.

Here is the network breakdown from the remaining 16 couples left. The CW and FOX lead the way with 4 couples each. ABC has 3 couples left. NBC and CBS each have 2 couples left, and there is 1 couple from a cable network. So not surprisingly, it’s mostly couples from the “Big 4″ and The CW. Glee is also the only show with more than one couple still left in the tournament.

If you don’t know what this is all about, go back to the First Round Voting Page, Second Round Voting Page and Third Round Voting Page and get all of the details there. The second round voting has ended and there were a TON of upsets! Even one of the #1 seeds went down this round. So lets see who is moving on to the next round!

The ABC Region lost three of its top seeds. The biggest was the #2 seed Finn and Rachel from Glee losing to Neal and Peter from White Collar. The #5 seed Adam and Kristina Braverman from Parenthood got blown out by Dean and Sam from Supernatural. Jax and Tara from Sons of Anarchy, the #6 seed, also got eliminated by Hank and Nick from Grimm. The majority of the winners from this region won by at least 60%. The closest matchup was the #8 seed, the girls from Pretty Little Liars, edging out the duo from NCIS: LA. There are only three seeds left here.

The FOX region also lost three of its top seeds. The #4 seed Cam and Mitchell from Modern Family lost to another comedy couple, Lily and Marshall from How I Met Your Mother. The #6 seed Cersei Lannister and Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones were no match for David and Brian from New Normal. In the closest matchup from this round, the #7 seed Matthew and Mary from Downton Abbey lost by only 2 votes to Peter and Olivia from Fringe. There are five seeds left in this region, and most of them are near the top, so this region is definitely the one that has went down mostly as expected.

The CBS region only lost two top seeds this round, but this region saw most of its top seeds get eliminated in the first two rounds. The biggest elimination in this round was the #2 seed, the love quad from True Blood, losing by just 20 votes to Shawn and Gus from Psych. The biggest blow out was actually the #6 seed Brody and Carrie from Homeland getting destroyed by Kurt and Blaine from Glee, who won with 89% of the vote. In fact the majority of the winners in this region won by at least 80% of the vote including Brennan/Booth from Bones, Prince Charming/Snow White from Once Upon a Time, Catherine/Vincent from Beauty and the Beast, and Barney and Robin from How I Met Your Mother.

Finally, the NBC region was “Upset Central”. When we started the second round, all 8 top seeds were still alive. As we enter the third round, there are only 2 top seeds left! The biggest upset was the #1 seed Tony and Ziva from NCIS losing to Sheldon and Amy from The Big Bang Theory. The other Big Bang Theory couple, the #4 seed Penny and Leonard, lost by 14 votes to Santanna and Brittany from Glee. Also losing this round were the #3 seed Daniel and Emily from Revenge, #5 seed Rick and Carl Grimes from The Walking Dead, #6 seed Bobby and J.R. Ewing from Dallas, and #7 seed Don Draper and Peggy Olson from Mad Men. They each lost by a fairly wide margin, but no winner had more than 68% of the vote, so no big blowouts here. However, only the #2 seed and #8 seed remain in this region.

We started with 32 top seeds and we are now down to only 13. In fact there are only two match ups this round that feature two seeds facing off, and they are both #1 vs. #8 seed match ups. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t some exciting battles this round. There are plenty of “upset” couples facing off against each other now. Some of them have to keep their “Cinderella” runs going.

If you don’t know what this is all about, go back to the First Round Voting Page and Second Round Voting Page and get all of the details there. If you did vote in the first two rounds, you should already know, so go check out the updated bracket for yourself by going here:

The first round voting has ended and 5 of the 32 top seeds went down. Two of them I would call MAJOR upsets. Lots of competition elsewhere with everything from blowouts to one matchup coming down to a single vote. Lets break down the first round action.

The ABC Region featured 2 upsets. The biggest one was the #4 seed, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad, losing to Arrow and Laurel from Arrow! The margin of victory was only 57% to 43%, but somehow a couple from a new CW show defeated a couple from a multi-time Emmy award winning cable show. The next upset was the #7 seed, Nucky Thompson and Margaret Schroeder from Boardwalk Empire, losing to Melissa Burke and Joe Longo from Melissa & Joey. The margin of victory for this matchup was not even close, 70% to 30%. Obviously, this was a case of a cable show having a larger following than a premium HBO show, at least for this tournament. The biggest margin of victories from this region were the #1 seed, Richard Castle and Kate Beckett from Castle, and Dean and Sam from Supernatural. These couples each won by over 80%. The girls from Pretty Little Liars only defeated the NCIS: LA duo by 20 votes in the closet matchup from this region.

The FOX Region went pretty much as expected. The top 8 seeds all moved on to the next round. In fact, most of the winners from this region won fairly easily with at least 70% of the vote. The biggest blowout was Lily and Marshall from How I Met Your Mother winning by 91% over the Switched at Birth couple. The closest matchup was a small surprise as the longest running couple in the entire tournament, Homer and Marge Simpson only won by 14 votes over The Mentalist couple.

The CBS region has been completely blown up already! Three of the top 8 seeds from this region lost in the first round. The biggest upset had to be the Beauty and the Beast couple defeated the #4 seed, Phil and Claire Dunphy from Modern Family! The fact that they won by a wide margin was definitely surprising. Also losing were the #8 seed, Michael and Fiona from Burn Notice, and the #5 seed, the guys from Two and a Half Men. The biggest blowout was the #1 seed, Brennan and Booth from Bones, who easily defeated the couple from Army Wives by 94%. The closest win was Riley and Evan Parks from The Client List winning by just 17 votes over Hank and Evan R. Lawson from Royal Pains.

The NBC Region also went as you would have predicted. The top seeds all won here. Most of the match ups were complete blowouts with the #2 seed, Jess and Nick from New Girl, winning by the biggest margin of 92%. But there were 2 VERY close match ups in this region. The #7 seed, Don Draper and Peggy Olson from Mad Men, beat June and Chloe from Don’t Trust the B by 12 votes. Then, there was the battle between Andy and Sam from Rookie Blue and Fitz and Olivia from Scandal. It went back and forth, but in the end 1 vote decided the winner with Andy and Sam pulling out the victory.

It certainly was an interesting first round with some surprising upsets. But now the second round voting has begun. We have 64 couple left, so go vote and remember to tell everyone you know to vote too!

If you don’t know what this is all about, go back to the First Round Voting Page and get all of the details there. If you did vote in the first round, you should already know, so go check out the updated bracket for yourself by going here:

It’s that time again! It’s the month of March and it’s time once again for the annual Inside Pulse TV Tournament! The biggest and most talked about tournament during “March Madness” season is still the NCAA Basketball championship tournament, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t any room for other tournaments out there. More importantly, there will always be room and time in your life to fill out more brackets that everyone loves. Do you really have anything else better to do today? I doubt it.

Everyone loves brackets and television. We proved that the last three years when we got hundreds of thousands of votes each weeks in our “Best Show on Television Tournament” in 2010 and 2012, and “Best Television Character Tournament” in 2011. Back in 2010, Chuck was the ultimate winner over Burn Notice. In 2012, The Walking Dead ended up walking over Modern Family for the Best TV Show crown. In 2011, Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory barely defeated Barson Stinson from How I Met Your Mother to win the first TV character tournament. This year we are changing things up a little bit.

No one successful television show has lived on star power alone. There might have been one name that stuck when a show first started, but if a show is going to survive more than one season, it has to have an ensemble of actors and characters. Every great show has had that in common. More importantly, there is usually a “couple” or a team of characters that are the heart of every show. Without these characters, the show wouldn’t work. So this year we are going to crown the “Best Television Show Couple”!

When you think of television couples, you usually think of a great romantic couple. Most shows have a couple of characters that start out as friends or just acquaintances, and they tease viewers with the “will they or won’t they” storyline. As in will they get together or not. But there have been other great “couples” that have been just friends or simple related to each other in one way or another. In fact, you could have hated enemies that would be considered a “great couple”. So in this tournament, you will find all kinds of couples, from romantic couples to family members, just friends and even hated enemies. There are even a pair of identical twins.

It should be noted how these characters were able to qualify for this tournament. First, the show that these characters were on had to have an aired a new episode since June 2012. Characters from shows that aired new episodes earlier in 2012 would only be eligible, if there were going have new episodes earlier in 2013. So some cable and premium channel shows that finished a season before June 2012, but were coming back this year with new episodes, would be eligible. So basically to qualify for this tournament, characters must be from a TV show that has aired a new episode since June 2012, and is either airing right now or will air new episodes later this year.

Now here is how the qualifying characters were selected. First, I looked at all of the shows that were eligible and came up with one or more “couples” that make that show work. It should be noted that in some cases I couldn’t single out just 2 people. So from certain shows there will be 3 or 4 people grouped together. I felt the relationship between those people were what made the show. So before you ask, in this tournament a “couple” can mean more than 2 people. But for the most part, it is just two people. I narrowed down the list of couples to 128. Yes, that is a lot, but there are a lot of shows on TV and a lot of couples out there. I eventually picked out the top 32 couples. Those couples were the ONLY ones to actually be seeded. They each get one of the top 8 seeds in the 4 different regions. The other couples were basically placed in the bracket in random order. Some couples had more “weight” than others, but depending on how you look at it, there might be few upsets in this tournament. The only time you could truly call it an upset is if one of the top 32 seeds loses in the early rounds of the tournament.

A few more things before we get to the bracket. Just like the real NCAA Tournament, there were some couples from automatic qualifying shows. They might have been in lesser conferences i.e. networks, but they each won their network tournament to earn a spot in the championship tournament. So you will see a few shows from each of the “lesser” cable networks with a few more from the “upper” cable and premium networks. But the majority of shows come from ABC, FOX, NBC, CBS, and THE CW. Even with 128 couples, I’m sure there are still some of your favorites that didn’t make it into the field. But the majority of your favorites should be there. Take a look at the bracket yourself by going here:

2013 Inside Pulse Best Television Show Couple Tournament Bracket

Remember, when you do place your votes in this tournament, you should always vote on who is the best TV couple RIGHT NOW. Some of these couples have been around for years, but some are brand new. This is not an All-Time tournament. This is as of right now, who is the best. And remember, what you are really voted on is which relationship is the best for that show? If you took out these characters from a show, would it be the same? If it wouldn’t, that is who you would vote for.

As you can see there are four different regions with 8 top seeds each, and 24 other couples. There are no byes this year, so that means there are 64 matchups in the first round that need YOUR votes! The 64 first round polls are below. So the time is now. Tell all your friends. It’s up to YOU to VOTE for which couple you think is the best on TV. Make sure to vote for all the matchups as every vote counts.

We proved that the last three years when we got hundreds of thousands of votes every week in our “Best Show on Television Tournament” in 2010 and 2012, and “Best Television Character Tournament” in 2011.

Not one successful television show has lived on star power alone. There might have been one name that stuck when a show first started, but if a show is going to survive more than one season, it has to have an ensemble of actors and characters. Every great show has had that in common. More importantly, there is usually a “couple” or a team of characters that are the heart of every show. Without these characters, the show wouldn’t be the same.

First, the show that these characters were on had to have aired a new episode since June 2012. Characters from shows that aired new episodes earlier in 2012 would only be eligible, if that show was going have new episodes in 2013.

First, we looked at all of the shows that were eligible and came up with one or more “couples” that make that show work. It should be noted that in some cases we couldn’t single out just 2 people. So from certain shows there will be 3 or 4 characters grouped together. We felt the relationship between those people were what made the show. So before you ask, in this tournament a “couple” can mean more than 2 people. That means is room in this tournament for “love triangles” and even “love quads” that haven’t been resolved yet. But for the most part, it is just two people. We finally narrowed down the list of couples to 128. Yes, that is a lot, but there are a lot of shows on TV and a lot of couples out there. We eventually picked out the top 32 couples.

But the majority of shows come from ABC, FOX, NBC, and CBS. Even with 128 couples, I’m sure there are still some of your favorites that didn’t make it into the field. But the majority of your favorites should be there. Take a look at the bracket by going here:

2013 Inside Pulse Best Television Show Couple Tournament Bracket

Remember, when you do place your votes in this tournament, you should always vote on who is the best TV couple RIGHT NOW. Some of these couples have been around for years, but some are brand new. This is not an All-Time tournament. This is as of right now, who is the best. And remember, what you are really voting on is which relationship is the best for that show? If you took out these characters from a show, would it be the same? If it wouldn’t, that is who you would vote for.

As you can see there are four different regions with 8 top seeds each, and 24 other couples. There are no byes this year, so that means there are 64 matchups in the first round that need YOUR votes! The first 16 polls are below. MAKE SURE TO CLICK THE LINKS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE TO GO TO THE REST OF THE FIRST ROUND MATCHUPS. So the time is now. Tell all your friends. It’s up to YOU to VOTE for which couple you think is the best on TV. Make sure to vote for all the matchups as every vote counts.
