Queen Latifah Launching Singing Competition Series

Queen Latifah has decided to join the ranks, and is launching a new singing competition. Tentatively called The Star Next Door, the show will take place in the competitors home towns, where mentors will join them and the community. Gloria Estefan and John Rich will be joining as the shows mentors. The show will launch on the CW over the summer season.

John Rich Kicked Off Airplane

Southwest doesn’t take kindly to drunk passengers, even when they’re huge country stars. After a trip to Las Vegas, Rich was on his way back to Nashville, and got a little too carried away at the airport lounge. Before boarding his flight, Rick got into a fight with a passenger, and continued his behavior once on the plane. Member sof the crew deemed Rich too intoxicated to fly, and he was escorted off the plane. Southwest Airlines reps confirm that a passenger was kicked off the flight, but would not release any names.

John Rich lived up to his last name and raised the most money ever for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. The country singer became Donald Trump’s fourth Celebrity Apprentice and clearly raised the bar for future seasons of the show. He led by example, never lost his cool, and was the peacemaker between Gary Busey and Meat Loaf (which I am sure we can all agree must have been even tougher than it looked). Ironically enough, I was sitting next to Rich’s publicist at the finale and was excited to speak to the winner himself at the red carpet after he was announced as the season’s ultimate victor.

The Celebrity Apprentice 2011 Finale Spoilers: John Rich Or Marlee Matlin?

The finale of the Celebrity Apprentice 2011 was on NBC tonight and pitted country superstar John Rich against Oscar winner Marlee Matlin.

In a project involving 7-up soda marketing, John Rich and Marlee Marlee both did a great job, but in the end, only one could win.

Ultimately Donald Trump announced John Rich as the winner, and the show went quickly off the air without much reaction from Marlee.
