WWE - Survivor Series 2009 - DVD Review

If this is the last Survivor Series I'll ever see then at least it wasn't a bad one. But I'm STILL upset. »»

WWE - Bragging Rights 2009 - DVD Review

Just because you're all big and muscle-ey and strong and could probably break my spine with a single punch doesn't give you the right to brag. Ok, just for this one PPV. »»

WWE - Hulk Hogan's Unreleased Collector's Series - DVD Review

Don't forget to say your prayers and take your vitamins because they are just...too...sweeeettttt! »»

WWE - Hell in a Cell 2009 - DVD Review

Hell in a Cell really showed me something by producing a damn fine PPV in just its first go-round. »»

WWE - Breaking Point 2009 - DVD Review

When the ultimate moment is there and you can either continue on in severe pain and torture or relieve yourself of the agony; are you willing to do what it takes? Are you willing to give it all up? Are you going to just finally say the words "I quit" so that you can feel some sort of relief as the pressure is lifted? Or will you continue to fight through and persevere getting pushed as far as you possibly can. Will you move forward and then when you can't be pushed anymore…realize you're at your breaking point? »»

WWE - SummerSlam 2009 - DVD Review

[SummerSlam 2009] should be the PPV event that lets us see some of the greatest matches...sadly this was not the huge missile firework I was hoping it would be. »»

WWE - Night of Champions 2009 - DVD Review

Perhaps the only people that will want to pick up this DVD are those that collect every WWE release, but don't you dare watch it. »»

WWE – SummerSlam The Complete Anthology Volume 4: 2003 - 2007 - DVD Review

Way to finish up with a BANG here WWE. Please note the sarcasm. »»

WWE – SummerSlam The Complete Anthology Volume 3: 1998 - 2002 - DVD Review

Volume three of the SummerSlam Anthology is without a doubt the best one so far. Whether the final installment can live up to the hype and outdo this one remains to be seen, but I'm going to honestly have to go with a "negative captain." »»

The View From Down Here #52

Big week in Australian sport, what with the Ashes starting, some car racing involving an Australian winning and the netball hitting the good stuff. Not only that, but I went to the RAW house show here in Adelaide and was underwhelmed somewhat. So let’s get on with it! »»

WWE" No Way Out 2009 - DVD Review

No Way Out is built on the two Elimination Chamber matches and they did their job in presenting entertainment and some great stories leading to WrestleMania. Everything in between was just not that good and that's a shame because it sucks when a couple hours of boredom is sandwiched by fun. »»

WWE" Royal Rumble 2009 - DVD Review

WWE" The Twisted, Disturbed Life Of Kane - DVD Review

The life of Kane has been quite twisted and quite disturbing and it's captured here perfectly; I just wish the matches in this set were a bit better in terms of in-ring action but beggars can't be choosers. Kane's been plowing along for over ten years now and the fire is going to burn for a long time to come so grab this set now if you're a bit behind. »»

WWE" Survivor Series 2008 - DVD Review

I long for the days of old when the Survivor Series followed along with the theme of the entire show and was simply about surviving. One may argue that it's still all about surviving no matter what type of match the wrestlers are in because they want to come out as the winner; the survivor. Nope, sorry, don't agree with that at all. If that is the point you're arguing then the WWE might as well call every single Pay Per View (PPV) the Survivor Series because that's what you're implying. Sorry people but I like the old school elimination matches that end up with members of a team or an entire team standing tall, lasting strong...surviving. »»

WWE - Edge: A Decade Of Decadence - DVD Review

A Decade Of Decadence moves through the career of Edge from his arrival on the scene in 1997 and through to today where he is right in the middle of his prime. Some of the matches in this DVD set are instant classics and will go down in history as some of the greatest in categories ranging from tag team to hardcore to ladder matches. »»

WWE - Viva La Raza: The Legacy Of Eddie Guerrero - DVD Review

Viva La Raza really does tell the legacy of Eddie Guerrero and how much he meant to everyone in the world of wrestling and still to this day. My one complaint is that so much stuff needed to be left out thanks to the awful mistakes one man made in his life, but that doesn't mean there still isn't plenty of good Eddie footage to last all our lifetimes. Make sure you grab this collection now if you are a wrestling fan, and maybe even if you're not. »»

WWE – Cyber Sunday 2008 - DVD Review

Everyone in the world wants to have their voices heard and their opinions known, and having them mean something on a worldwide stage makes them even better. Each and every year the WWE wants to put control in the hands of the WWE Universe (the fans) and let it be known that they have control. The annual PPV entitled Cyber Sunday does just that and lets fans see the types of matches and the match-ups they want to see. Whether it's a ladder match or a cage match. Whether it is a three way dance or a tag team gauntlet. Whether it is a hated rival or a fan-favorite. All choices are in the hands of the fans and what they say...goes. »»

WWE – No Mercy 2008 - DVD Review

All good things must come to an end and that includes wrestling feuds that have been going hot between wrestlers that want nothing but to destroy their enemies. The fans surely enjoy the back and forth promos along with all of the matches that come with the hatred, but sometimes things just need to find a stopping point. Something has to be proven and someone has to give in order for there to be a final decision. And it is when everything is laid out on the table; when all the stops are broken out; when all boundaries are crossed; when there's only one thing to do...show No Mercy. »»

WWE - Unforgiven 2008 - DVD Review

The WWE has a great way of coming up with new and innovative gimmicks that test the waters as far as what could be considered a wrestling match any more. We've seen ladder matches, TLC matches, hell in the cell, the elimination chamber, hardcore matches, and a number of other types of gimmicks that force the wrestlers to bring their A-games when fighting off their opponents. Unforgiven 2008 brought about a new type of match that didn't see the danger level raised at all or tons of weapons thrown in to make it a free-for-all street fight. The "Scramble Match" would simply give even chances to everyone involved to walk out a champion. »»

WWE – The History of the Intercontinental Championship - DVD Review

Well, it's going to have to ring true that the matches speak for themselves because the WWE decided to not include any special features on this DVD release at all. Maybe that's because of just how much stuff you get in the main attraction and that's going to find no complaints from me. So not all of the matches are four and five stars, and to be honest with you some of them aren't even two stars, but they all play an important role in the history of this most prestigious title. »»

WWE - The Great American Bash 2008 - DVD Review

On July 20, 2008 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, the superstars from Raw, SmackDown, and ECW came together to fight at the middle of the summer spectacular. The red, white, and blue were ready to fly and the action inside the ring got red hot as all three major championships were on the line. »»

WWE - One Night Stand 2008 - DVD Review

Once a year WWE decides to step outside the boundaries a little bit and make things a tad more interesting. There is no longer a hardcore division or title. Mankind aka Mick Foley no longer wrestles on a constant basis so his wild and unique tactics aren't seen often anymore. ECW is no longer the land of no disqualification matches, but its own brand that is a breeding ground for new and upcoming stars. But it's this one night out of the year when the WWE decides to take things...to the...extreme! »»

WWE - Nature Boy Ric Flair: The Definitive Collection - DVD Review

Nothing needs to be said about this set except that is the best release from WWE by leaps and bounds. There are only a select few matches and each of them is absolute perfection. The main feature that chronicles not only his career, but his life is one of the best things I've ever seen put together by World Wrestling Entertainment. »»
