Wildcats V3.0 begins a new arc as Agent Wax gets demoted by his boss and forced to drive his obnoxious wife around, which prompts Wax to use his special hypnosis powers to force her to, among other things, give him a blow-job. Meanwhile Spartan gets a surprise guest while we meet two new Wildcat villains who are dressed as S&M slaves, complete with ball gags, leather outfits, and chains.

Sadly while we get these…. unique villains, we are told nothing about them. No names and no idea of who they are working for. I guess we’ll find out more about them next issue but still an introduction would have been nice.

Dustin Nguyen does a colossal job as usual with this issue. His art is a great improvement from Sean Phillips’s bland and emotionless artwork and shows the character’s emotions, something Phillips never could in his work.

On the downside of this issue (and the entire Version 3.0 Reboot) is Spartan. He shows no emotion, speaks corporate-speak whenever he opens his mouth, and contributes nothing to the plot. In short, he’s a pretty useless character, which makes me wish that Casey either restores the character to his former glory or ship him off to limbo with the rest of the old Wildcats that Casey doesn’t want to use….
