The issue opens three days after the lock down from last issue; with Lono in the infirmary recuperating from the beating Dirtz gave him. The doctor surprises Dirtz by keeping Lono in the infirmary. Then we go to Loop playing chess when he receives a message about Nine Train’s impending return. We finally see exactly what happened between Nine Train and Loop in a nice flashback. After receiving the news Loop gets some advice from an old head.

Loop then decides to visit the creepy Casey looking for a weapon in preparation for Nine Trains arrival. There we get a lesson on prison made weapons. Then we visit with Lono and Erie in the infirmary, and we finally meet the infamous Nine Train. Plus Lono may have figured out who gave him up to Dirtz. Finally Lono gets a very familiar visitor, and Loop takes a trip to the infirmary.

Azzarello keeps giving us pieces of the puzzle. We finally get to see what Loop did to take Nine Train out, and it was worth the wait. We also see Lono expressing possible regret for his not being in Atlantic City. Wow. Casey’s explanation of the weapons was very enlightening and well written. Another great script from Azzarello.

The art team did a spectacular job. The colors are great. The background looks beautiful. Their work is flawless. Lono looks scary on page three, yet almost remorseful on page 18. The cons on page 19 look like the real deal. Of course Dave Johnson’s cover is as perfect as always.

This issue also had a preview of The Losers. It looks like that’s one title I won’t be picking up. I honestly wasn’t impressed.

100 Bullets packs a punch every month. Since Oz is done with I now get my prison fix from this book. Easily the most satisfying read every month.
