This issue is full of revelations. Lono and Shepherd’s conversation sheds light on many things. It answers the question of whether or not Lono knew he was killing Milo in “The Counterfifth Detective.” We also learn what Graves has planned for Loop. Plus we get such juicy tidbits as what Lono thought about Milo, how Lono feels about Graves’ plans, and how much of a team Graves and Shepherd really are. The conversation is very enlightening.

Loop is also in this issue. After last issue, he ends up in the infirmary with his nemesis; Nine Train. They have another encounter, and Loop ends up in the hole again. But not before Lono handles the Dirtz problem, landing in the hole next to Loop. Trust me this tale is far from over.

Azz is a master at plotting and dialogue. This issue was intense despite the fact that most of it was just a conversation between two people. And how the conversation flowed was very natural.

Risso’s art is fantastic as always. Lono looks like a caged animal, and both he and Loop look like they took a hell of a beating before going into the hole. It’s a kind of bloody issue and the blood looks great thanks to Trish’s colors. Clem’s lettering makes everything crystal clear, or as clear as Azz will let it be. Of course Dave Johnson’s cover is superb as always.

This is the last monthly installment of 100 Bullets for a while as the entire team moves over to the Batman title while Loeb and Lee take a break. If you are curious about this book, check out Batman after “Hush” so see what all the hype is about.
