Ok so Ra’s al Ghul has decided to use Bizarro and Artemis in his latest plot o save the Earth, by wiping out mankind. Superman and Wonder Woman have teamed up and are headed to Gotham to seek Batman’s help. Batman has just recently become aware of Ra’s plot, and gets an unwanted assist from Wonder Woman during an interrogation.

Wonder Woman disapproves of Batman’s methods, leading to an argument between the two. While Batman and Superman compare notes, Wonder Woman follows a lead and gets captured. Superman rushes to stop some missiles, Batman takes care of Bizarro, saves Wonder Woman, and stops the bomb in Gotham. But the villains escape and Wonder Woman undergoes a transformation.

The story is pretty cool. It’s difficult to pull off bringing these three icons together without getting too cheesy, but Wagner manages. Everyone seems pretty in character. I especially like the unprepared Batman. Everyone seems in character, except for Ra’s.

I’m not digging his threat of rape. Granted I’ve not read every one of his appearances, but this just seemed out of character for me. Almost like Wagner was wanted him to be even more evil. The thing about Ra’s is that he could always justify his actions. No one can justify rape.

The art is really good. It has a very retro feel to it that properly fits this tale from the past. The use of light and shadows works very well. Everything is crisp and clear, but what would expect when the writer does the art for the book.

I like this book. It’s a fun read of DC’s top guns.
