The current issue of Transformers is battle-filled as Ultra Magnus takes on and defeats the Stunticons while the Dinobots launch a full-on assault on Shockwave’s headquarters. Meanwhile the Movie Autobots introduce Optimus Prime to the Autobot Resistance, including Arcee, Gnaw (a Sharkticon who is working with the good guys), Wheelie, Kup, Blur, Springer, Hot Rod, Blaster, and Smokescreen. They reveal to Optimus Prime that they’ve figured out how Shockwave has achieved peace on Cybertron: using subliminal messages that have whipped the entire Transformers species into a violent yet unified frenzy.

Meanwhile Ultra Magnus decides to finally tell Shockwave off and ask him how the Stunticons escaped when he sees the Dinobots attacking and defeats them, including Grimlock who is made completely and totally into Ultra Magnus’s bitch. Meanwhile Prime and the Resistance have their own problems when they find that someone has activated a series of Omega Supreme-type robots, which have the Autobots quaking in their seats upon seeing them.

A good issue with some good action sequences (the Dinobots/Shockwave fight and Ultra Magnus/Menasor), Easter Egg moments (Smokescreen showing off his rubbing-activated holographic Autobot logo to Prime’s crew), and character moments (when Ironhide and Kup meet in the Resistance’s base).
