Stormwatch (with help from the human shield Flint) enter the New York Stock Exchange to try and stop the rioting erupting as a result of the machinations of Citizen Soldier. After defeating several of Citizen Soldier’s zombie minions, they enter the Stock Exchange and find Citizen Soldier ranting and raving against the evils of Big Business. The art here is pretty screwed up as everyone comments about how the crowd of traders are now zombies slashing and clawing everything in sight like they were from “Return of the Living Dead” but the art CLEARLY shows them not being zombies and more likely having the air literally sucked out of their chests and suffocating to death.

We get exposition from Citizen Soldier, who we learn is a little bit Captain America and a little bit Magneto. Citizen Soldier admits to exposing President Bush analogue Patrick Kent as being a card-carrying member of the Klu Klux Klan and states his reasons for his actions.

“Isn’t it obvious? I’m leading an organized rebellion against a tyrannical government as is my right as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States!” Citizen Soldier

“Why?” Ben Santini

“Because this country’s rotting from the inside out. It’s become what we rebelled against back in 1776: A dictatorial empire….” Citizen Soldier

Citizen Soldier makes short work of Team Achilles until only Flint and Ben Santini are left standing. As Ben and Citizen Soldier trade verbal jabs, we learn that not all is what we see. We learn that Citizen Soldier is only there to distract Ben’s team while his minions attack several other financial institutes and destroy vital records that will plunge the country and corporate America into a state of financial crisis not seen since the Depression. This leads to a rather poorly conceived ending as Santini fakes a total nervous breakdown, allowing Citizen Soldier to escape. With CS gone, Santini’s team reveal that they’ve recorded the energy signature of Citizen Soldier’s teleporter, allowing them to track him when he makes his next move.
