In this final issue Greg assaults the Hand, and visits the artificial personality factory. His ex-partner Miami attempts to reason with him, but to no avail. Greg then confronts La Pen, only to discover that he has become no better than that which he wishes to destroy. Finally Greg meets Mother Dirt, where he learns about the big picture and his role in the master plan.

After that meeting we find Greg dumpster diving. Having rejected his “real” life and having his “fake” life destroyed he has no place in the world. But he is still trying to make a difference, and the world is still being run behind the scenes.

Grant has made a fully realized world. Nothing seems too outlandish, no matter how absurd. The ending is a satisfying one, and Greg’s role in the master plan makes sense. While I may not have fully grasped every aspect of the story, I did enjoy every chapter.

The art is great. From HIFI colors (the artificial personalities and ink from the pens are beautifully colored) to Weston and Erskine’s art (in the end Greg looks downtrodden, but not beaten), everything looks amazing. And Mother Dirt looks like nothing you can imagine.
