The issue begins with someone finally committing a brilliant crime in Gotham. The genius behind the heist is Anthony Finch a two-bit criminal who just happened upon HERO dial. But there is no honor among thieves as two of Tony’s compatriots attempt to find out his secret.

Then we see former dial possessor Robby Reed is about to be transferred to Iron Heights. Back to Tony, whose new abilities from the dial allow him to discover the conspiracy against him. He confronts his turncoats, and then his real secret is revealed; he got punked by the Joker. Of course the dial gets lost, but Tony gets what he really wants in the end.

Pfeifer makes all of his characters real. Tony is way sympathetic as a lovable loser. The Robby subplot is very compelling. And it’s nice to have a happy ending every once in awhile. But I doubt that “Gotham Central” would appreciate the way they are portrayed in this book, and Finch’s plot nearly mirrors the current storyline in the Flash. It’s still a good read nonetheless.

Kano is getting better every issue, and he was good to begin with. I love the designs of the heroes (or villains as the case may be.) I really have nothing to say bout the look of the book other than it looks good.
