So apparently Brother Blood has taken over the Slab. He plans to make a huge breakout freeing hundreds of super criminals. Meanwhile both Green Arrows visit Roy in the hospital. Ollie is pretty pissed that his ward was hurt on someone else’s watch. But then they team up the Outsiders to get Blood, the guy responsible for Roy’s condition.

Your typical slugfest ensues. Nightwing faces down Brother Blood in his usual (at least in this title anyway) brutal fashion. But Brother Blood activates his master plan, and the hero’s have a decision to make; stop the inmates from escaping or save one million infants from being kidnapped. They save the babies, and are blasted for allowing the inmates to escape. Oh yeah, Roy is in stable condition, and Metamorpho’s not Metamorpho.

I really do like Judd’s writing. This story is full of twists and turns. But my problem is his dialogue. Everyone is full of quips. Psimon, Jade, Metamorpho, everyone. That tends to make everything sound the same. And I’m curious if this Brother Blood has anything to do with the Blood expected to appear over in Teen Titans. But this was a decent issue.

ChrisCross is great. I’ve been a fan since his Milestone days. His art perfectly matches this book. His art shows the action, and makes your pulse run. And while a lot may be happening in a panel, it never looks cluttered. His art is perfect for a team book. Sign him up!
