Apparently when Rena Mero (Sable) approached WWE management about receiving her release, she proposed that she be a “TV-only” character. She wanted to get out of the house show circuit.
This was the proverbial ‘straw that broke the camel’s back’ and management realized that they could accept her request without everyone asking for a similar type of deal to avoid the house shows which is when they mutually agreed to let her go.
