Various WWE Tidbits

In WWE.com’s online poll, Benoit vs. Orton was in first place in their best match poll as of Monday night, followed by JBL vs. Undertaker in a distant second (no doubt that high due to the post-match brawl and limo stunt). Guerrero vs. Angle was a distant fourth, behind Diva Dodgeball, which presumably was getting votes from people trying to mess with the results. It was in first place early Monday. The IC Title match was in last place.

WWE announced during Summerslam that tickets go on sale for WrestleMania 21 on Sept. 25. They are also offering travel packages to WrestleMania 21, with the deadline for applications being Aug. 30.

Jim Ross appeared on WWE “Byte This” and discussed the Ohio Valley developmental wrestlers. He put over Brent Albright, an amateur wrestler from Oklahoma, Carly Colon, and Matt Morgan. Ross raved about Morgan’s size and compared Albright to a young Arn Anderson. There continues to be talk of WWE expanding the developmental system, but changes are only in the brainstorming stage at this point with ideas ranging from having a “finishing school” in Stamford at the Trax (seen in Tough Enough) for OVW call-ups or opening start-from-scratch training territories that would work toward running a full-time schedule at high school gyms and armories on weekends so trainees could work in front of crowds. It is unclear if Tough Enough will return.
