The episode opens as Supergirl is in pursuit of someone through Metropolis. In the process, random guards attack her, and she does whatever necessary to take them out. She fines the person she was looking for, and he tells Supergirl that he has not told anyone. She says that it is good, because he is the last loose end. A drone then attacks her, with what appears to be a kryptonite tip. She does fend it off, and then grabs the guy. As her eyes start glowing red, she tells him that it is OK to scream now. Supergirl then awakes in her bed, to reveal it was all a dream, but she left a pair of burn holes in the ceiling.

We cut to the Watchtower, where Martian Manhunter finds everything odd, and puts her on the inactive list. Supergirl, upset about everything, opens up to her new friend, Green Arrow. Arrow assures her that it’s probably nothing, but a new character to the show, The Question (man with no face), comes up and wants to know more. Question says that it was just repressed memories, and says that a few years ago when Supergirl was at Star Lab recovering from her fight with a brainwashed Superman. She only remembered ½ the time she was there, and was in a coma.

The 3 heroes then head on over to Star Labs, where Prof. Hamilton assured them that Supergirl was in coma the whole time. Hamilton then shows us a surgical robot, which is the same as the drone from Supergirl’s dream. Hamilton suggests that Supergirl isn’t vulnerable, and the dreams are a result of her having to rely on surgery to save her life.

As they leave Star Labs, Question is still skeptical about everything, just as they are all attacked by an Army robot and generic henchmen. The robot attacks Supergirl specifically, while Arrow and Question take out the henchmen. The robot is a standard combat trainer, which leads them to Army General, Hardcastle.

Supergirl, Arrow, and Question pay Hardcastle a visit, one that isn’t welcome. They force him to answer a few questions. Hardcastle says that the Army and big business are in cahoots, and that they did testing on metahumans, mutants and aliens, and created their own. Hardcastle then says that they wanted to be prepared of Superman go haywire again, and that the government has files on all the Superheroes in the Justice League.

As our heroes get teleported to the Watchtower, a mysterious woman walks into Hardcastle’s house. She looks like Supergirl, but tell Hardcastle that her name is Tea. Tea then takes out Hardcastle.

Back at the Watchtower, Martian Manhunter tips off Question to a news report that a head honcho of NuvoGen, a bio-tech company, has been abducted, but it is only reported by one news company. The man that was abducted is the same man that Supergirl is hunting down in her dream. Arrow and Supergirl decided that they will head to NuvoGen, and Question goes after the reporter, since he obviously knows something that everyone else doesn’t.

Arrow and Supergirl sneak into NuvoGen, with Arrow disguised as ‘Ollie the Security Guard.’ At the same time, Question interrogates the reporter, who tells him that he was tipped off by his new girlfriend. When Question asks about his girlfriend, it seems like the reporter has been sleeping with Supergirl.

Meanwhile, Arrow and Supergirl find out that Hardcastle was right, and that they have been playing with Superhero DNA, and that they created a clone of Supergirl (Tea). Tea as followed Arrow and Supergirl in, and tricks them into a simulation chamber, where Metropolis comes up out of nowhere.

Tea flies in, and starts fighting with Supergirl. Tea says that she cannot have Supergirl reading her mind, so she must die. Question then shows up, and, just as Tea was about to fry Supergirl, Question tells Tea that the reason why she wanted to take care of Supergirl was because the link works both ways, and while Supergirl was seeing what Tea was doing, Tea has to deal with Supergirl’s conscious. This distracts Tea enough for Supergirl to drop a car on her.

We are then shown a man in shadows, watching the fight on his computer. He gets a phone call, and says ‘OK’. This man then hits a button, and the whole NuvoGen building is destroyed. Supergirl grabs Question and Arrow and flies out of there, while Tea was still down.

Back at the Watchtower, Supergirl is talking to Prof. Hamilton from Star Labs. She says that there was no sign of her clone, and then asks Hamilton if the DNA for the clone came from Star. Hamilton assures her that they destroy all genetics as standard practice. After they hang up, Hamilton is then shown walking over to an operating room, where Tea is recovering, to end the episode.

Apparently, this is sort of a continuation from an episode back during Superman: The Animated Series. I’m pretty sure we were all supposed to know that Prof. Hamilton was bad news to begin with.

I highly doubt we will see The Question in a full episode roll again, but I really liked him. He seemed very cool and calm under pressure, and was huge on a conspiracy theory that I would rather not get into.

Also worth noting is that it seems like there might be a budding romance between Green Arrow and Supergirl, as this is now the 2nd episode that they have been in together. Arrow is very protective of her, and we are starting to see the same connection we saw with Green Lantern and Hawkgirl.
