An article on Zap2it.com sites a blog at Kottke.org and a confirmation from the trade publication TV Week that Ken Jennings’ “reign of terror” over the game show “Jeopardy” has finally come to an end.
Since the game show tapes multiple episodes in a short period of time, several dozen episodes of the newest season are already in the can.
The news is Jennings will lose in his 75th game and walk away from the show with more than $2.5 million in total winnings. If this is the case, then the famous episode will air at some point in October.
Zap2it.com notes the following quote from a spokesperson from Sony Pictures TV, the producer of the show which does not confirm the events of the recent tapings:
“[W]e have never disclosed whether a contestant has won or lost before a show has aired. We have no intention of changing this policy.”
