Welcome to InsidePulse’s second Afterburn report!

It’s September 11, 2004 and we’re on the air with WWE Afterburn!

Our host today is the 100% healed Josh Matthews. Josh says that they’ll be showing the Eddy-Angle Lumberjack match later on. But first:

Last week shows OJ defeating Haas, then JBL giving Haas the Clothesline from Hell.

JIP with our WWE champ JBL facing off against Charlie Haas. JBL with a neckbreaker. Hass fights back with some punches. Off the ropes by Haas, reverse, sunsetflip by Hass -> 1, 2, no. Right hand puts Haas down. JBL in control in the corner with a kneelift, a chop and a right hand. Whip by JBL to the buckle, reverse, Haas misses a charge, JBL goes for the clothesline and Haas does a nice dropkick. Replay of the dropkick. Both men down. 3 punches by Haas and 2 takedowns. Whip by Haas, reverse, JBL charges and gets the boot. To the top, Haas gives JBL a crossbody block. 1, 2, no. T-bone suplex by Haas. OJ plays around with Charlie’s angel, Jackie. Haas gets distracted and Clotheline from Hell finishes for the 3 count.

JBL has the hat and the mic. He wants to thank the audience for love and the warmth in…Oklahoma? Yep, it’s Oklahoma. JBL gives them a stock a stip: invest in JBL. The economy has been great with JBL as champ. He beat Eddy twice. He tells the fans to chant “JBL”, and every time he does it, the fans chant “sucks” right after it. I think they mean to say “rules”. His greatest accomplishment was at SS against the Dead Man. No more title shots for him. In 2 weeks, he’ll give him a funeral. Didn’t Kane do that? Undertaker’s music plays and out comes a hearse or as JBL puts it, his “last ride”. The SD GM comes out. Theadore Long says that JBL is not the GM. The Undertaker will get an another shot. And that title shot will be at No Mercy in a Last Ride Match. No submission. No pinfalls. This is basically an ambulance match, replaced with a hearse. Long says “you better recognize”. Hey! That’s D-Lo’s catchphrase! So, is the funeral cancelled?

Coming up: Eddy vs Angle in a LJ match
Up next: Kidman & London vs Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki

Carlito Caribbean Cool in coming. Yikes, this guy is so much cooler than Eddy.

We’re back with AB. Josh talks about 3 weeks ago, when Kidman put Chavo in the hospital.

Last week, Kidman was worried that if he ruined Nunzio’s face, Kidman would have the biggest nose on Smackdown. So, he chose to protect his rep by not doing the SSP, costing him and his partner the victory. Heidenrich then attacked London.

JIP, Kidman & London vs Dupree and Suzuki. Suzuki is legal with him doing an armbar to Kidman. Kidman gets out of it and gets a springboard bulldog. Kidman makes the slow tag, but the referee didn’t see it, so the beating continues. London goes in anyways to fight them off, but Dupree punches him, whip off the ropes by Dupree, reverse, back body drop by Kidman all the way to the outside. Enzigure by London and a dropkick by Kidman to Suzuki. Kidman positions Suzuki for the SSP, but once again he doesn’t do it. Kidman is about to leave when London gives Suzuki a dropkick. Kidman is about to come back, but nope, he leaves for good.

Clip to Dupree working on London’s arm. “USA” chant. London fights back with a superkick. Cover on Dupree: 1, 2, Suzuki breaks the count. London with a jawbreaker on Suzuki and out he goes. London with left hands on Dupree, off the ropes, reverse, Suzuki pulls down the ropes and out goes London. Chop to London by Suzuki, then London’s shoulder gets smashed into the post. Replay of London to the outside. Dupree with the Michinoku driver, a tag to Suzuki, then Suzuki with takedown move for 1, 2, 3. Rene Dupree and Kenzo Suzuki are the NEW Tag Team champs. Rene Dupree celebrates with a dance and a kiss to Suzuki’s wife.

We see London in the dressing room talking to Kidman. London says he really needed Kidman out there. London asks Kidman what does he have to say to him. Kidman’s response: “Nothing”.

Coming Up: Rey vs Spike turns into a 6 man tag
Up Next: Heyman and Cole have an altercation
Commercial
Promo for Unforgiven.

Afterburn returns with Josh saying that Heidenirch is a dangerous man for attacking him and Paul London.

We see Paul Heyman and SD GM talking. Heyman says that he gave Heidenrich the night off. Since Long holds Heyman responsible for Heidenrich, Long puts Heyman in a match against an announcer. Luckily, it’s not Tazz. Heyman thinks it’s Michael Cole and says he wants to smack Cole. Cole responds by saying that he could take Heyman out just like that. Ouch. Heyman goes to the ring, while Long tries to tell him that Cole isn’t the opponent.

Heyman is in the ring taunting Cole. Funaki’s music plays and out he comes to beat on Heyman with punches. Heidenrich is in the building and attacks Funaki. Heyman covers Funaki and makes his own 3 count. Heyman goes out and shoves Cole. Cole gets mad and goes after Heyman, but Heidenrich is there and Cole gets the F out as fast as possible.

Coming Up: Angle vs Eddy
Up Next: 6 man tag

SD rewind shows Spike’s heel turn.

We’re back with Josh talking about Spike and Mysterio.

JIP, Rey Mysterio vs Spike. Spike beats on Rey in the corner. Whip to the corner, Rey tries to put the boot up, Spike catches it and Rey comes with a kick to the leg. Whip to the corner by Rey. Rey with an airplane spin into a gutbuster. Off the ropes by Mysterio, reverse, duck, springboard crossbody block by Mysterio. Spike is in the postion for the 619. D-Von distracts the ref, so Bubba Ray could trip him and drag him spreadeagle on the post. The Dudley Boyz go in the ring for the triple team, until Hardcore Holly comes to save Rey. Dudley Boys fight back, then RVD comes out and clean house. Charles Robinson tells the announcer that the match will now be a 6 man match. Dudley Boyz decide to leave. Holly, Rey and RVD go out and get them back in the ring.

Dropkick to Bubba Ray. Clotheline to the Dudley Boyz. Spike with a headbutt to Holly’s stomach. Tag to Rey. Thesz press to Spike. Cover on Spike for a 2 count. Hardcore goes in, Hardcore goes out. RVD in now. Rey gets thrown out. Dudley Boyz whip a bloody RVD, head down, RVD kicks both down with spinkicks. 5 star frop splash to Bubba Ray. Summersault to D-Von by RVD. Holly, Rey and Spike in the ring now. Spike tries a Dudley dog to Holly, countered into an Alabama slam to Spike. Rey drops the dime for the cover, the count and the victory!

Up next: Angle vs Eddy, a late arrival steals the Show in a Big time way
Commercials

We’re back with our final segment of Afterburn. Last week’s SD shows Eddy vs Angle, with Angle winning 2-1.

JIP, Eddy vs Angle. Angle is in control with a suplex on Eddy for a 2 count. Twice, Angle tries to throw Eddy to the outside, but fails. Angle gives Eddy 2 punches, but it doesn’t effect him. Eddy fires back him punches, then tries the 3 amigos. At the second one, Angle turns it into an anklelock. Eddy gets out of it and dropkicks Angle for a 2 count. Eddy with a whip, reverse, flying headscissors by Eddy. Now, we get the 3 amigos. Eddy to the top and Luther stops him. Angle goes to the top and here come the superplex. 2 count for Angle. The straps go down, an Angle slam coming up, no, shades of fall #2 in last week’s match as Eddy cradles for the 2 count. Eddy gives Angle the anklelock! Luther comes in, then Cena, then Booker and everybody else for a good old fashion brawl.

The Big Show’s music plays and he’s baaaaack! Here is the carnage he does:

Double clothesline to a Basham and somebody else, big boot to the other Basham, Shannon Moore into the steps, Akio into the railing, a right hand to Scotty Too Hotty, chokeslam to Holly, all three Dudley Boys out of there, chokeslam to Cena, right hand to Mysterio, chokeslam for Haas, right hand to RVD, chokeslam for Dupree, chop to Nunzio, clotheline for Booker T, chokeslam to Nunzio, chokeslam to Eddy, a look to Angle, then chokeslams him and finally, after some trouble, chokeslam for Luther.

Josh says his goodbyes and says SD next week will be off the chains. And that does it for Afterburn.
