CBS Shelves Elfman Sitcom

Jenna Elfman’s plans to star in a new CBS sitcom have collapsed because of creative differences with the project’s producer, sources said.

The project would have marked a reunion between the former “Dharma & Greg” star and Chuck Lorre, who co-created and executive-produced the ABC comedy.

The CBS midseason comedy had been in development since May, when the network announced it at its fall schedule presentation in New York.

“This specific project isn’t happening, but we couldn’t think more highly of these two talented people,” a CBS spokesman said. CBS and producer Warner Bros. Television wouldn’t elaborate on the reasons for shelving the project.

This past season, Elfman did a two-episode guest shot on Lorre’s CBS sitcom “Two and a Half Men.”
