Fox Elects To Develop D.C. Drama

The development track at FOX has a decided Beltway feel of late.

On the heels of news that the producers of “The Simple Life” want Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to be congressional interns and the development of a show inspired by the CIA-Valerie Plame scandal comes another Washington-based show for FOX.

The network and 20th Century Fox TV have given a script commitment to “North Shore” writer-producers Gretchen Berg and Aaron Harberts for a drama that combines family issues and politics. It would focus on the upheaval in a Midwestern family when the mother is elected to the U.S. Senate.
