NWA TNA News: Notes From Impact/Xplosion Tapings

Archive

– Former WWF Intercontinental Champion Marc Mero, also known as Johnny B. Badd in WCW and better known as Sable’s ex-husband, was backstage the Impact tapings in Orlando, Florida. He has been training local DJ Russ Rollins and is planning to appear in the ring with the DJ next week against Rod and Bruce Steel, cross-promoted on the radio show.

– Even though Chris Harris recently told Alex Marvez in an interview that he didn’t want to work against James Storm in the ring, the “displaced tag team partners” angle continued at the Impact tapings.

– This was the first week where Impact and Xplosion tapings were held on the same night, which led to a bit of confusion backstage. For example, BG Jammes was booked to be in a six man tag with 3 Live Kru, but did not appear, since they instead booked Konnan and Ron Killings to team up at the tapings.

– Glacier, formerly of WCW and currently working at MGM Studios’ Indiana Jones show doing stunts, was backstage at the gorilla position for the heel side during the Impact tapings.
