[Pop] Cat Stevens Grounded

British singer Yusuf Islam, formerly known as Cat Stevens, and famous for the hit song “Peace Train,” is being sent back to London after being refused entry to the United States.

The singer, who converted to Islam in 1977, was on United Airlines Flight 919 from London to Washington, when it was diverted 600 miles, landing in Maine, when officials saw that his name was on a “watch list.” After being interviewed by US officials, he was denied entry into the US.
