Last Week's 'Apprentice' Boardroom Shocked Carolyn

Hyperbole is the official second language of unscripted television. Although reality shows are always promising “the most shocking rose ceremony ever” or “the most unbelievable Tribal Council since the last Tribal Council,” its extraordinarily rare that something shocking or unbelievable actually happens.
Last Thursday’s (Sept. 16) “The Apprentice” was the rare exception. After leading his team to victory the week before, Bradford was exempt from being fired and didn’t even pack a suitcase before heading to the boardroom. The Florida attorney was so confident with his performance that he told Donald Trump he was willing to waive his exemption. The Donald took him up on the offer and, as the climactic music droned, fired him.

Speaking with reporters about this season and about the release of her new book “Carolyn 101: Business Lessons From The Apprentice’s Straight Shooter,” “Apprentice” advisor Carolyn Kepcher admits that the decision initially shocked her as well.

“I had actually thought Ivana,” Kepcher says of the Apex leader who couldn’t keep her team from losing. “I thought she was very indecisive. She had a lot of excuses. She was very exhausting.”
Before making his decision, Trump asked Kepcher and fellow advisor George Ross for their suggestions. Kepcher suggested Ivana, while George went with loose-cannon Stacie J. Instead, Trump decided to punish Bradford, as the camera caught both advisors looking agog.
