The WB and Toni Braxton Make Sweet Music

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Singers are, clearly, the new actors on the television scene. This week alone, FOX has expressed interest in a Barenaked Ladies variety show, ABC has given a long look to a comedy starring Melissa Etheridge and now comes word that The WB is developing a comedy around Toni Braxton.

The Grammy-winning singer would star in the project from 20th Century Fox TV. The studio, apparently sick of established television actors, is also behind the Etheridge and Barenaked Ladies shows.

The series, which may be written by Saladin Patterson (“The Bernie Mac Show”), would be loosely based on Braxton’s life, focusing on a single woman trying to balance her personal and professional lives.
