Former “Man Show” hosts Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel will go head-to-head this week when Carolla joins the guest host rotation on CBS’ “The Late Late Show.”
Carolla will take his shot at the “Late Late” desk starting on Wednesday, Oct. 6, hosting three shows through the end of the week. The “Loveline” personality will follow Tom Arnold, whose hosting stint ends on Tuesday (Oct.5).
“The Late Late Show” runs from 12:37 to 1:37 a.m. ET, which will put Carolla against “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which airs on ABC from 12:06 to 1:06 a.m. From 1999-2003, Carolla and Kimmel hosted Comedy Central’s “The Man Show” together. They’ve also collaborated on the cable network’s “Crank Yankers.”
Carolla was last seen (by around a dozen people) on the ABC special “The Great Domestic Showdown.”
Since Craig Kilborn’s departure in early September, “The Late Late Show has used a revolving assortment of guest hosts, beginning with Drew Carey. Other recent hosts have included D.L. Hughley, Michael Ian Black and the show’s head writer Mike Gibbons.
CBS plans to continue with the guest hosts until at least the end of October as the search for Kilborn’s permanent replacement goes on.
