The ever-changing cast of “ER” will add yet another new face later this fall in the person of Eion Bailey.
Bailey (“And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself”) will have a recurring role on the long-running drama, playing a med student assigned to County General. He’ll also catch the eye of nurse-turned-doctor Abby Lockhart (Maura Tierney).
Now in its 11th season, “ER” has undergone a near-total turnover in its principal cast over the years. Only Noah Wyle has been with the show its entire run. This season has seen the addition of Shane West as a regular, while Alex Kingston, who plays Dr. Elizabeth Corday, is on her way out.
Bailey played young film producer Frank Thayer in HBO’s “And Starring Pancho Villa …” last year. He also had a role in the pay-cable network’s World War II epic “Band of Brothers.”
His feature-film credits include “Fight Club,” “Almost Famous” — where he played Rolling Stone editor Jann Wenner — and “Center Stage.” On television, he starred opposite Jennifer Garner in the short-lived 1998 FOX series “Significant Others.”
