The WB has given a put pilot commitment to the adorable sounding “I’ll Cuddle When I’m Dead” from “What I Like About You” writer-producer Stacy Traub. The busy scribe is also working on HBO’s untitled comedy for “Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Cuddle” is at least somewhat based on Traub’s personal experiences as a Canadian citizen who married an American to stay in the country, taking a “Mad About You”-style look at the things newly married couples learn after the wedding.
Traub, who also wrote for NBC’s “Suddenly Susan” and produced on the network’s “Happy Family,” will draft the pilot and executive produce along with Karey Burke and Jamie Tarses and the Untitled Brooke/Tarses Project.
HBO is developing several possible comedies for Davis, who signed a development deal with the premium cable giant in the aftermath of “Sex.” Traub’s script focuses on a single woman (to be played by Davis) supporting herself as a poker player in Las Vegas.
