Thomas Harris is currently writing Behind the Mask, a fourth novel in his famous Hannibal Lecter series and Hannibal producer Dino De Laurentiis is already keen on bringing the story to the big screen in 2006.
The book/film, which is a prequel, is set in 1940s Europe, and is said to be about “the creation of a monster”. It would involve complicated casting which would require an actor to play a 5-year-old, a 14-year-old, and a 20-year-old version of the famous killer.
