– IGN posted a rumor picked up from SupermanV.com about director Bryan Singer closing in on his choice actor to play Superman’s Kryptonian ennemy. The site offers Jude Law as the lead contender. UK newspaper The Independent half-confirmed by offering that Law was offered ” an Unspecified role.”

– George Clooney is to follow his directing debut Confessions of a Dangerous Mind with the story of another small screen legend, this time CBSNews anchor Edward R. Murrow. Entitled Goodnight Good luck the script by Clooney himself and Grant Heslov (True Lies) will recreate Murrow and his producer Fred Friendly’s challenge over the tyranny of the House Unamerican Activities and their ‘Blacklist’. With his news show See It Now, Murrow had successfully confronted McCarthy on his claims about hundreds of avowed soviet spies living in America.

– Universal is sending American Pie star Sean William Scott to summer camp, courtesy of director David Gordon Green and scribe Danny McBride. The untitled comedy will have Scott play Steve Stiffler, who signs up as a camp counselor in hopes of reliving his good-ole’ party days. The fun is cut short when it turns out to be an enrichment camp for nerds.

– The first pictures of Assualt on Precinct 13 are online. The film stars Lawrence Fishburne, Drea de Matteo and Ethan Hawke, and takes place on New Year’s Eve. It features an attempt to bust out criminal Fishburne from the almost-desserted precinct. Check them out here.
