SD News: Shaniqua Cut Makes It 12, Smackdown Overnight Rating, Chavo Mistake

Archive

– On last night’s Smackdown, the announcers called Chavo’s match his first back since his injury at the hands of Billy Kidman, even though he faced Spike Dudley last week on Velocity. They can technically say that they weren’t wrong, since this was Chavo’s first “Smackdown match” since the injury, but it could also be a case of WWE not paying attention to its own storylines.

– Smackdown scored a 3.6 overnight rating last night, according to Nielsen Media Research. We’ll post final ratings once they are available.

– Mike Johnson at PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE’s 12th talent cut of the month is Tough Enough 2 winner Linda Miles, a.k.a. the Basham Brothers’ valet “Shaniqua,” who has recently been competing in WWE developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling. This comes after a series of incidents, including attitude problems that sent her down to OVW, a shouting match with OVW trainer Jim Cornette, and a poor performances in a match vs. Alexis Laree last week. The rumor is that she does not intend to stay in the business.
