Episode 11.07: White Guy, Dark Hair (previously titled “It Happens”)
Airdate: November 18, 2004

Sam and Kovac treat the victim of a violent rape who refuses to let her injuries prevent her from helping the police find her attacker; Lewis throws the staff a curveball with an emergency drill; and a patient with a kidney problem gives Carter a run for his money.

Sam and Kovac treat a woman who was brutally beaten and raped and wants to help police although she can barely speak. Lewis schedules a JCAHO emergency drill without telling the staff. Carter and Abby treat a girl complaining of kidney problems, which is just the beginning of her adventure.

Ranger Scouts invade the ER as they are the fake patients of a drill. They are wheeled in by Paramedics and pretend they are older and are injured (ex: a 14-year-old girl plays a 28 year-old male with penetrating injuries to bilateral lower extremities with arterial laceration!). Some of the doctors are a bit on edge because they are delayed in helping those who really need help. Weaver is pissed because Lewis knew the drill was today and she didn’t tell the staff. One of the scouts wants to help take care of the injured and is way too pushy. Chen is at the hospital with her father. She seems healthy and ready to come back to work.

Kem emailed pictures to Carter. She looks happy says Jerry when he sees the pictures. Morris drools when watching Kem’s pictures. Carter and Ray take care of a woman named Louise Garvin who has multiple facial injuries as well as deformed arms. She was found in an alley and has no papers. She has a hard time talking so the cops are eager for the doctors to do something for her so they can get info about what happened to her. Sam and Kovac move to another step in their relationship. Abby and Haleh take care of a woman who thinks the pain that comes and goes is due to kidney stones… but let’s say she’s in for a surprise. Weaver tells Lewis that nice girls never make history and that Lewis should me more aggressive.
