Episode 1.09: Solitary
Airdate: November 17, 2004
We will meet a new survivor named Sullivan. He is likable but suffers from hypocondria. The French woman is named Danielle Rousseau and lives on the island. She has a great soul but is a potential danger. In Sayid’s flashback there will be an officer named Omar and Nadia, a childhood friend of Sayid’s.
The survivors are not alone. Sayid is taken captive by a long-time strandee: an armed and cryptic French woman (Mira Furlan), who’s alternately violent and sympathetic. The ordeal triggers painful memories for Sayid, who recalls his past as a captive interrogator.
Sayid’s life is placed in grave danger after he stumbles upon the source of the mysterious French transmission. Meanwhile, Hurley has a ridiculous plan to make life on the island a little more civilized – and it just might work.
I have heard that the Frenchie lady will make an appearance at some point (at least that was the initial plan, not sure if it changed). The woman Danielle Rousseau (guest star Mira Furlan) who is heard doing the French transmission is found alive by Sayid but finding her puts his own life at risk. We’ll get Sayid’s story in a flashback and his ties to Iraq hostages.
