There is no way to do justice to this series with a recap. Basically there is a secret society called the Hegemony. They control the world. One of the highest ranking members is Mae Nash Price. They have a city on the moon called Luna City. Rydell Starr, Holden Crosse, Kendra Harte and Tessa Crown are part of the master plan.

Starr, Crosse, Harte, and Crown all undergo training and re-brainwashing at Luna City so they can play their role. Meanwhile back on Earth it’s been announced that Jan Boulton, a right wing role model and spokesperson has been murdered. In reality Boulton has been admitted into the Hegemony, and has been whisked off to Luna City.

Boulton was admitted, because she was to be the future of the Hegemony. Unfortunately she is in actuality a transsexual, and thus is unfit to live in Luna City, and Price deems shim unfit to live, period.

Price finds a new surrogate mother in the form of Crown. Crown had been treated to resist the Hegemony’s brainwashing, but she accepts her role in the Hegemony’s master plan regardless. However Crosse, Harte and Starr all still have fight left in them.

They start a firefight, resulting in the death of Crown, and eventually blow up Luna City, while escaping in a vessel. They then decide to spend their remaining time alive fighting the Hegemony. The End.

Chaykin’s art is amazing. He’s a great visual storyteller. Storywise, things are left to be desired. It’s a very imaginative story, but too much feels missing. It’s almost as though Chaykin knew the story that he wanted to tell, but it’s not perfectly conveyed to the reader. This leaves you with the feeling of “what’s going on?” But the running commentary from Know Now Net News is a great touch.
