TNA Turning Point Report

Intro movies, less than the same quality as last time. Weird stuff with the Kings of Wrestling driving around as Elvis.

A Black limo arrives and “Vince” comes out, greeted by Abyss with balloons. A faux HHH and Abyss stare down.

NWA Tag Team Titles
3 Live Kru vs. Team Canada w/Scott D’Amore
BG James and Ron Killings are 3LK. Bobby Roode and Eric Young is Team Canada. Killings in the ring much of the first part of the match. Hot tag to James and he bebops and stuff. BG James goes for a pumphandle when Johnny Divine comes out of no where returning to Team Canada and hits James with the hockey stick flag. Young covers James for the pin and the titles.
Winners and new champs: Team Canada

Dusty cuts a promo backstage saying some stuff about the WWE footage calling it CookieGate.

Kid Kash, Kazarian and Michael Shane vs. Hector Garza, Sonjay Dutt and Sonny Siaki
Dutt and Kash to begin. Dutt takes a lot of punishment for a while. Trinity comes in and goes for a Pie in the Sky but hits Kazarian. Then the finish comes when Garza hits the corkscrew moonsault for the pin on Kazarian.
Winners: Garza, Dutt, Siaki

Hudson interviews Savage backstage.

Serengeti Survival
Abyss vs. Monty Brown
Monty cuts a promo on the ramp challenging Abyss to come to him. Brawling on the floor for a bit and then action moves into the ring. Abyss with a butt slam on Monty with a chair on Monty’s chest. Highlights include a Pounce to the outside by Monty, and then Abyss dodging a Pounce and Monty hitting his head through a table. Abyss dumps out a bag of tacks. Monty rips off Abyss’s shirt and Abyss is pretty flabby. They go back and forth trying to slam or powerbomb each other into the tacks, and finally Monty hits a spinebuster on Abyss and Abyss’s head hits the tacks. Ouch.
Winner: Monty

Fake Vince continues to walk around backstage with Faux HHH. He spots a tape and has HHH hit it with a sledgehammer. Damnit it’s a Dray 3000 tape!

The NYC vs. Empire Saint Pat Kenney and Johnny B Badd
Jacqueline is YOUR special guest ref. This match has shockingly no heat. Tenay pushes the athletic background of Pat Kenney. The story is that Kenney’s back is injured. Stunner by Disco, after pushing Jackie. He pushes her again, but this time she hits him with a bodyslam. Badd hits a TKO on Gilberti for the pin.
Winners: Kenny and Badd

Jarrett, Nash and Hall wearing glittery new King outfits, put Savage in a car and drove him off.

DDP/Raven video recap as Erik watts joins commentary.

Raven vs. DDP
DDP just kicks the ref in the face early in the match as DDP just pound away on Raven. Watts is not too good on commentary. DDP continues to beat on Raven. DDP goes for a Cutter but Raven holds the ropes. Tenay mentions the match is under Ravnen’s rules. Raven pulls the BATTLE HELMET out of no where and levels DDP with it. Then puts it on. Raven goes on offense. DDP is revigored and goes on some sudden offense, but Raven turns the Cutter attempt into a backbreakerish move. More back and forth action and Page finally hits the Cutter, but Raven kicks out at 2.99! Two Druid-looking folks in black masks and gowns show up at ringside, Raven with the low blow, Evenflow DDT for 2! Watts comes into the ring to beat up some Druids. Perhaps they’re Dinero and Punk? Nah. Watts beats up the Druids — funny, he doesn’t look Druish. THEN he turns on DDP, clothesline. BUT not so fast — Watts takes a Cutter from Page, and Raven sees an opening, getting back on the offensive. Another Cutter OUT OF NOWHERE for the 1-2-3!
Winner: DDP.

Vince and HHH are backstage, and Tracii comes in with cookies. Vince sends Faux HHH to get Dusty.

Sabin/Petey Video package

X Division Title
Petey Williams (c) vs. Chris Sabin
Chants for both “Let’s go Sabin” and “Let’s go Petey” go back and forth. Jumping back and forth stuff to start. Sabin controls early on, sending Petey to the floor several times. D’amore with a pep talk, then the next time distracts the ref. Petey tricks Sabin to the floor. Slingshot into a huricanrana by Petey. Back and forth matchup with dueling chants and a few D’Amore interferences. Sabin channels Kurt Angle and jumps up from the mat up to the top rope superplexing Petey from the top. Sabin hits an enziguri after a huge punching fit by both. Running powerbomb by Sabin for a very close 2 count. Sabin with a somersault from the top onto Petey on the floor! Petey goes for the Canadian Destroyer, Sabin reverses and Petey reverses into a sunset flip for 2. Petey goes for a Destroyer from the top but Sabin throws him off. Then hits a rolling pancake ype move, then into a piledriver that Petey sold like death. Sabin covers and Petey kicks out. Sabin goes for a move, into a Cradle Shock attempt, D’Amore pulls Petey down, and as the ref jaws with D’Amore, Petey takes brass knucks out of his trunks and hits Sabin for the pin. Really good match with a so-so ending.
Winner: Petey Williams

Kings of Wrestling video package.

Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall vs. Randy Savage, AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy
Savage has supposedly been kidnapped, so they are pushing this as a handicap match. Jarrett and Styles to start. AJ takes control and Hall gets a tag. Hall does some old skool slaps to the back of Styles’ head. Styles pushes Hall into Nash and seems to want Nash. Nash comes in, does some cocky posing and goes to work on AJ. Goes to roll snake eyes, but AJ floats back and then does some dropkicks until a tag to Jeff. Top drop missile dropkick by Hardy on both Hall and Jarret.. Hardy with a low blow legdrop on Nash. And another. Hardy fired up for a bit until Nash hits a big boot and tags to JJ. Jarrett goes to work on Hardy. Hall is tagged in and does a chokeslam for 2. Tag to Nash. Back to Hall and they do the Outsiders double team abdominal stretch. Match continues with mostly the Kings on offense. Hall and Nash are looking pretty decent. The new outfits have bellbottom pants. Nash has blue glittery stuff and Hall has red. Long heat sequence on Styles to finally a hot tag to Hardy again. Goes to work on Hall and Nash, but Jarrett takes control. Goes for a Stroke, but Hardy blocks into a Twist of fate/Stunner. Crossbody block by Styles on Hall and double pin but Nash pulls out the ref and levels him. Hall with a guitar shot onto hardy with had Hardy fall Swanton-style onto Jarrett in the ring. Styles takes down Hall with a body block on the floor. This is nuts! Hardy and Jarrett roll around on the ring and finall out comes Randy Savage! He is wearing a shirt and looks very bald. He reaches out for a Hardy tag and Hardy tags him in. Savage got a very small reaction. He goes to work on all three Kings. Savage looks small. All three faces get a sleeper on all three Kings. Savage pushes Jarrett down and just randomly pins him with his knee on his head.
Winners: Styles, Hardy and Savage

Tenay and West talk about the repercussions of the result, basically saying that Savage pinning the Champ puts him in line for a title shot.

Fake Vince is brought away in an ambulance, and Fake HHH gets yelled at.

A video package airs for the next PPV: Final Resolution on Sunday, January 15, 2005 on PPV.

Dusty is backstage at the truck, and they show footage from the cookie/balloons incident where TNA stopped by to say hello when WWE was filming footage for a Royal Rumble commercial down in Orlando. All WWE-related stuff was blurred out, including faces of WWE workers (one who looked to be Eddie giving the 3LK sign to Konnan, Killings and James). Besides 3LK, Abyss, Traci and Douglass were there. Oh, and they ate WWE’s mahi-mahi. Tenay: “Why would WWE be upset at this? It’s not like we drove a tank up to their studios in Stanford!”

Six Sides of Steel
Losing Team Disbands
America’s Most Wanted vs. XXX
AMW controls on Elix in the early going. Daniels is opened up and bleeding from his forehead. Back and forth match for a good amount of time. Death sentence broken up by Daniels, then a cross body by Storm on Daniels. Elix has handcuffs and cuffs Harris to the ropes. Double team commences on Storm. Daniels uses the key to the cuffs to beat on Storm. Daniels is very bloody at this point. Match has broken down a bit without tags and all four men are in the ring. Well Harris is still cuffed. XXX with a cool double team shoulder/backbreaker and top rope elbow. Storm fights back and spears Daniels after a crossup by XXX, and Storm grabs the key. Storm reaches and gets the key to Harris! He frees himself and goes to work on both men. Harris wakes up Storm and AMW rams the heads of Daniels into the cage walls. Inverted DDT into the cage on Elix. Harris with a vertical suplex bounced off the cage wall on Daniels. Elix slams down Storm with a belly to belly. XXX with a cool double team top rope move on Harrs. Storm with a neckbreaker on Elix. Storm tosses both guys head first into the cage. AMW double team clothesline move on Skipper gets a 2. XXX double team Harris. Then they go for Death Sentence on Harris! He kicks out!! No heat for these near falls unfortunately. They go for another Death Penalty on Storm. Storm fights off Daniels, and follows Elix to the top of the cage! Hits a HUGE POWERBOMB from the top of the rope up the cage! Storm covers but a kick out. Daniels with an Angel’s Wings on Storm for only 2. Harris stops Daniels from going to the top of the cage and now both climb to the top of the cage. Prime Time climbs up the cage too! Elix climbs to th every top of the very top and walks the length of one side of the cage as a tight rope, and does a head scissors takedown on Harris from the top of the cage. Daniels to the top of the cave and does a HUGE elbow drop from the top of the cage on Harris! Everyone is out and on the mat writhing around. This match is insane! Daniels up top again, Storm grabs him for a superplex off the cage, Elix and Harris get involved in some kind of indescribable four way electric chair superplex powerbomb thing and everyone is just dead. Tenay is gushing and I don’t blame him. Harris and Skipper are up first, both try their finishers and get reversed. Storm and Daniels are up and they go toe to toe. Daniels with repeated headbutts on Storm. Harris gets Daniels handcuffed! Double team superkick on Elix. AMW hit a powerplex on Skipper as Daniels looks on handcuffed. Storm pins Skipper and that was awesome.
Winners: AMW

As a result, XXX must disband as a team.
