The issue begins with Wylie disposing of Gabe’s body, as he flashes back to the infamous last act of the Minutemen in Atlantic City. There we see Milo, Victor, Cole and Wylie discussing what they’re going to do and what they’ve done. It’s a familiar scene to those who’ve been reading since issue #1, and it’s really fleshed out.

Later we see Shepherd talking to Anwar, with Anwar questioning Shepherd’s loyalty, especially in light of Agent Graves, and Wylie turning up in town. It’s then that Wylie makes his assault on Anwar’s mansion.

Wylie is an efficient killer, who makes use of every shot. Anwar pleads with Wylie for his life, but Wylie ends it regardless. Then he takes what he came for; Shepherd. After beating Shepherd, we flash forward to Shepherd tied up in Wylie’s room while the two talk. As they talk, Wylie lifts the sheet to look at his captive under the bed, Dizzy! To be concluded.

Azzarello is the top of his game. In the two pivotal scenes; The Atlantic City Flashback, and Anwar and Shepherd waiting for Wylie to storm in, he gives the readers enough information to have an idea about what’s going on, yet still clamor for more. Robins nails the lettering, especially Wylie’s gunshots, and the beating of Shepherd. Mulvihill’s coloring also adds to the emphasis on Wylie’s gunshots.

Risso’s art is great as always. From Wylie’s remorse on page one to the reveal of Dizzy on the final page, this book looks great. It’s always fun to dissect the Atlantic City Flashback, and Risso keeps us in the dark about the mystery Minutemen, literally. But Wylie’s assault on Anwar’s bodyguards is beautiful in its brutality.
