LOS ANGELES, December 13: Original cable fare dominated the American Film Institute’s official selections for the AFI Awards 2004, which rank the year’s most outstanding achievements in film and television.
The eclectic television list includes Comedy Central’s quirky animation South Park; FX’s Nip/Tuck and The Shield; HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Deadwood, Something the Lord Made and The Sopranos; and three network series: FOX’s Arrested Development and
ABC’s Lost and Desperate Housewives.
The AFI Awards selections are chosen by a 13-person jury featuring scholars, artists, critics and AFI trustees. The selections will be honored at a luncheon on
January 14.
