Previously on:

Jimmy and Julie talking about how they original got together. Kirsten confused about what the secret Caleb is hiding. Ryan kissing Lindsay. The discovery that Lindsay’s mom is Renee Wheeler and thus Caleb’s daughter.

These previously on things are getting way too packed tightly. Everything goes so fast I feel like I am having a seizure or at least suffer from really bad attention deficit disorder.

The show opens up to an early morning meeting on a pier between Caleb and Sandy. Caleb is complaining about weather being 50 degrees. Caleb talks about what it would be like living in jail, which he says he is willing to do to protect the ones he loves. Sandy says that he isn’t trying to protect Lindsay or Kirsten but himself. Sandy implies that Caleb is afraid of Kirsten and Julie. Frustrated with Caleb’s unwillingness to tell the truth Sandy quits as being Caleb’s lawyer and walks away.

We then pan the mantel of the Cohen household showing that the stockings have been hung. Seth is upset that the menorah isn’t cleaned. Seth begins to talk about Chrismukkah. He wants to recruit some Jewish people for a big party he has planned to celebrate the holiday. Sandy not interested in helping out.

Off to the intro and commercials. I just found out that actor Jason Schwartzman (Rushmore, I Heart Huckabees) is in the band who sings the opening song California. By the way anyone who hasn’t seen it should see I Heart Huckabees. Great film.

After that short break we head to school. The boys are discussing the plans for Chrismukkah. Seth tells Ryan that Alex isn’t coming; she is away for a family vacation. Ryan isn’t sure if he should invite Lindsay. He wonders if that is putting too much pressure on the relationship.

Down by the water there is some loving going on. Jimmy is getting it on with Julie on his boat. Oh Jimmy what are you getting yourself into.

Down the coast Sandy is waiting near another pier. This time he is meeting with Renee Wheeler. He tries to convince Renee to come forward. He tells her that she may face jail as well. Renee is prepared to do so at this time because she is unsure how to disclose to Lindsay the truth about who her father is.

Over at school we see Ryan and Lindsay. She tells Ryan that she isn’t a fan of the holidays. Ryan tells her how last year they watched the movie “Over The Top” Wow awesome obscure reference to crappy yet hilarious Stallone movie about arm wrestling. Lindsay tells Ryan that she and her mom and don’t celebrate xmas. She tells a sad story about her childhood and how she just wanted something from her dad and never got anything so she stopped believing in her dad. He feels bad for her and invites her over to the Cohen household for Chrismukkah.

Marissa runs into Summer at the school’s coffee shop. The girls discuss their holiday plans. Both of their boy toys are on holiday. Zach is in Cabo and DJ is in Sacramento visiting family. They both miss their boys. Seth runs into them and wishes them a Merry Chrismukkah. They complain about what their families have planned for the holidays. Seth invites them both, including Jimmy, but not Summe’s dad for obvious reason, to Chrismukkah. They both accept. Well now that Jimmy is coming I wonder if him and Julie will sneak off to make out while Caleb is distracted.

Cut over to Kirsten at work. Julie shows up, she missed a big meeting. She makes some lame excuses but we know she was too busy getting it on with Jimmy. Kirsten notices that Julie’s ring tone is Jimmy’s favourite song. The signs are really starting to add up. Hey did anyone figure out what song that was? If so please email me as I am stumped.

Later that night we come upon Ryan studying at home. Seth comes in and starts saying that the holidays are gonna be awesome. Ryan finds out Marissa is coming and with Lindsay coming it could be awkward. Sandy is grilling on the BBQ and over hears that Lindsay is coming over for Chrismukkah. He says it’s not such a good idea to invite Lindsay. Sandy wants to know how serious it is between Ryan and Lindsay. Sandy tells the boys that her mom is involved in Caleb’s case. They joke around and Seth says “What is she (Lindsay) his illegitimate love child?” Sandy drops his tongs. The boys realize from Sandy’s reaction that Set’s guess was right. Sandy tells them, “This stays between us.” And on that dramatic note we head to commercial.

It is the next morning and the boys are waking up, Ryan is going to go uninvite Lindsay because of the whole Caleb thing. Ryan tells Seth to uninvite Summer and Marissa because otherwise Lindsay will somehow find out that his reason for uninviting (the cancelling of Chrismukkah) her was a lie.

We see Ryan arrive at Lindsay’s house. She opens the door and is very happy to see him she greets him with a hug. She is super excited. Ugh, poor Ryan. Meanwhile Seth is greeted by a hug from Summer and a Merry Chrismukkah. Back at Lindsay’s, she has made a yama clause. Yamakahs that look like Santa hats. Ryan does not want to upset her so he doesn’t uninvite her.

Cut to Summer and Seth picking out xmas trees. She thinks Seth is changing and him inviting her to Chrismukkah is a sign that he is different person. Not to ruin that Seth also decides to not uninvite Summer. She then picks the biggest tree and orders him to carry it.

Over at the Cohen house Ryan tells Seth he couldn’t uninvite Lindsay. Seth loves the yama clause. Before Seth can tell Ryan he bailed on uninviting Summer her and Marissa show up. The door bell rings and Sandy announces that Grinch and Lady Grinch (Caleb and Julie) have arrived. Shortly after her arrival Julie finds herself alone with Jimmy and they start to go at it. Kirsten almost catches them. Renee shows up to drop off Lindsay. Renee tries to convince Lindsay not to go to the party. Lindsay walks in to see Seth, Summer, Marissa and Ryan all playing video games. She seems a bit put back that Marissa is at the party. And the tension starts to build. It is like looking at lit fuse just waiting to go off.

At the other side of the house Caleb and Sandy start drinking. Caleb decides he needs to tell the truth but he wants Sandy to help him. Just then the door bell rings, it’s Renee. She wants to talk to Kirsten. Now the countdown to Armageddon begins. But before we can get to that a word from our sponsors.

Kirsten invites Renee in and they go to the kitchen. Renee is hesitant to talk. Renee says Caleb should be telling her this. Kirsten looks confused and then Caleb walks in. Caleb is none to pleased to see Renee. Just to make things even worse all of the kids enter the kitchen and sense something is weird is going on. To top it all off Julie walks in.

Caleb is upset at Renee. Kirsten is getting mad because she knows something is up. Julie senses something bad is about to come out and gets her fangs out. Caleb starts to tell the truth but before he can finish they start to figure it out. Renee is upset. Lindsay looks at Caleb and says, “You’re my father?” but it really wasn’t a question more of a statement. She then runs out of the room. Kirsten slaps Caleb and tells him to get out. Caleb goes over to Julie who slaps him and says “I think you should be ashamed of yourself.” Wow this coming from a dirty cheating whore.

Ryan goes to talk to Lindsay, Seth does his best to be a good son and goes to his mom. The girls are left alone in the kitchen.

Kirsten is pissed at Sandy for not telling her. Caleb comes to find Kirsten. Sandy has to physically restrain Kirsten from attacking Caleb. She throws a vase at him. Seth intervenes and tells Caleb to leave.

Ryan drives to Lindsay’s place. Renee answers the door and says Lindsay does not want to talk to anyone. Lindsay pushes her mom aside to talk to Ryan herself. She looks very sad and super cute in the glasses. She tells Ryan that she doesn’t want to see him anymore and that she doesn’t want to be near his family anymore. Ryan solemnly walks away with a defeated look on his face. At this point Chino might not look so bad.

Over to Summer and Marissa who are discussing just how screwed up everything is in the O.C. Seth comes in and says we have to cancel Chrismukkah. NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! You can’t cancel Chrismukkah! As the nation gasps in disbelief that Seth has given up his dream of the perfect holiday we cut to commercial.

After that break we see Summer, Marissa and Seth at a diner they are then joined by Ryan who declares things aren’t good with Lindsay. Summer goes on a rant about Chrismukkah saying how important it is. Summer says they can’t give up now. She still believes in a Chrismukkah miracle. At least someone still has the spirit. Go Summer!

Across town Caleb finds Julie who is in Marissa’s room looking for her. Caleb promises Julie that he has no more secrets. He tells her he is happy with her and wouldn’t cheat on her. She withdraws from his advances. She won’t forgive him just yet.

Ryan comes back home to find Sandy is eating dinner alone. Ryan apologizes and feels that the chaos is his entire fault. Sandy tells him that it isn’t. Meanwhile Kirsten is hiding in a closet crying. Ryan tries to talk to Kirsten. He slyly decides that “He needs to talk to her about Lindsay” and didn’t come to try to help Kirsten feel better. Giving up to her motherly instincts she opens door and says “Don’t tell Sandy I came out for you.” Sandy is watching down the hall and says, “Do you want to meet your sister?” Kirsten feels really bad for Lindsay being stuck in the middle of this whole ordeal but she is not so sure about being sisterly towards Renee at this point.

On a quest to save the holiday Summer and Marissa go to visit Jimmy on his boat. They want a generator and extension cord. They get the stuff and leave. Julie is hiding inside boat. She tells Jimmy she wants to be with him. That is two close calls and sooner or later these two will be caught. However what do the girls want with a generator? Hmm”¦what do they have planned?

Seth runs into Lindsay on the beach. He says he talked to her mom and Renee told him that Lindsay didn’t want to talk to her friends. Seth tells Lindsay that we aren’t friends, we are kin. He tries to use his humour to break down her barriers. Seth reminds her that they have lots of things to be grateful for and gives the example that they didn’t date. He gives her a Chrismukkah stocking. It has the name Laura on it. Seth says it was the only one they had at the store. They two of them walk down the street. Lindsay seems a bit better and they discuss the origins of Chrismukkah. They get to her house which is amazingly decorated. Kirsten and Sandy and everyone else are waiting on the front lawn. Kirsten welcomes Lindsay and they hug. Sob. Renee thanks Sandy for doing all this. YEAH! Summer has saved Chrismukkah. Lindsay goes to talk to Ryan. YEAH they are back together. Another Chrismukkah miracle. The whole gang drink eggnog. Seth starts to sing his Chrismukkah hymn and then fade to black.

Well I have to say that past two episodes have been by far the best of the season. While I will admit this one was a bit cheesy at times it was also very sweet. Everyone knows that holiday themed episodes will always be a tad cheesy but I liked the way they handled things this year.

Perhaps the best Chrismukkah miracle is that Seth is back in fine form. This is the first episode where I did not want to smack him upside. I think he is finally back to the loveable loser/geek everyone liked from the first season.

There is only a short preview of what is to come when The O.C. comes back from holidays and it shows Marissa holding hands with Alex! The much talked about Marissa switching teams is going to happen in the New Year and it seems this will involve Alex. So will Seth be able to work his magic and get into a threesome? Perhaps another Chrismukkah miracle? I hope they handle the Marissa going gay theme well. I fear it is just a ratings grab, then again why should I be complaining I hopefully will get to see two hot girls making out.

Next week Fox is showing a rerun of last yea’s Chrismukkah episode.

Well this is my last review until the next new show which is on January 13, 2005 until then have a Merry Chrismukkah.
