InsidePulse’s WWE Afterburn Report

Archive

It’s December 18, 2004 and we’re on the air with WWE Afterburn!

Our host today is Josh Matthews. He says we’re going to see highlights from the US title match from Armageddon. Probably as a thank you to everybody who ordered it.

In the ring, we have a big celebration with JBL, OJ, Amy Weber and Bashams. JBL is still the WWE champion! He is the champion of all champions. JBL wants to see the ungrateful fans who wanted to see a new champ. A tiara is placed on Weber. He tells the fans to chant “JBL”. And of course that’s what they do. You may think that they’re booing him, but they are really chanting “J Boo L”. Kurt Angle’s music plays and out come him, Luther and Jindrak. JBL and Angle are face to face. JBL want Angle to congratulate him. Nope. Angle says he is the greatest champion of all time and brings up Armageddon 2000 where beat 5 men in a Hell in a Cell. Angle has the audacity to call JBL a “bucko”. JBL brings up the loss to Big Show. Angle challenges him to a match. JBL of course, says no. Theodore shows up and you know the rest. Angle. JBL. Tonight. WWE title. Holla, Holla, Holla.

Up Next: Cena vs Jesus from Armageddon
Commercials

We’re back with Afterburn.

Armageddon: Cena vs Jesus. Jesus is making an entrance with Carlito. Cena attacks Jesus and goes crazy with punches. Cena vs JBL at Wrestelemania? Why not? Jesus is given a kendo stick and hits Cena with it. Cena shrugs it off and continues beating Jesus. I thought he was injured. Cena hits Jesus with the kendo stick in a different camera angle from the PPV. A couple of more shots with a kendo stick. Cena chases Carlito and says “you’re next”. Jesus is on the other side of the barricade and Cena puches & kicks him. Now, we get to see the match in black & white because of the bleeding. We are in the audience now and Cena continues the assault. They’re going up and Carlito hits from behind. Cena puts a garbage can on Jesus. Finally, a double team. Doesn’t matter, Cena is back. Back in the ring, Cena has a sign and trash lid. A shot from each. One FU later, it is over with Cena going for the cover, the count and the victory. The color comes back. Cena gets revenge on Carlito by hitting him with the chain.

Matthews says this feud ain’t over.

I guess that’s it for the Afterburn report for 2004. Next week, SD goes to Iraq and it’ll be the usual “thank you” crap, so what’s the point? To end the report, I’ll give you a treat. Last year, when Mick Foley walked out on Raw, I had the PERFECT idea on what that reason was. Had they done it, maybe Randy Orton would have more over than he is now.

When Foley does indeed return and give his reason why he walked out, it won’t be because he was afraid or because he was a little rusty. It could be like this: Foley could come out and say that he made a promise to someone who died (like Bob Orton Sr) saying that he would never let anything bad happen to Randy Orton and that’s why he walked out. He tried to get out of the match by making all these stipulations, but unfortunately Bischoff agreed to all of them. Then he realized that Orton’s health was more important than Foley’s reign as GM, so he quit.

Randy Orton tries to provoke Foley week after week, to no avail. The match at WM would be Evolution vs Steve Austin, HBK and The Rock and someone else.

Rock, Austin and HBK try to convince Mick to be that somebody else, but to no avail. Then he finally agrees to join them, when guess who comes to Foley for a visit: Bob Orton Jr. He gives Foley his blessing to give his son a good whipping, because of the way he’s been acting all his life: cocky, arrogant, etc.
