Variety reports that Seann William Scott (American Pie) will star in New Line Cinema’s The Optimist, which he will also produce. Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein penned the screenplay.
The movie will center on a man who is born without the gene for unhappiness. His whole outlook on life is changed, however, when he falls in love for a cynical reporter.
