[Beats] Man Claims Suge Knight Paid Him to Assault Dr. Dre

Jimmy James Johnson, the man who reportedly attacked rapper/producer Dr. Dre at the Vibe Awards this past November, told police that Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight, paid him $5,000 to assault Dre just before he was to go onstage to accept an award.

It’s believed that Johnson told the police that Knight hired him to embarrass Dr. Dre, who formerly co-owned the controversial Death Row imprint with Knight.

Johnson could be staring down the barrel of a life sentence due to previous felonies, in conjunction with California’s “3 Strikes” provision.

After allegedly punching Dre, Johnson was reportedly stabbed by rapper Young Buck, who pled not guilty to assault charges related to this case, last Friday.

Knight continues to deny all allegations.
