Episode 2.11: The Second Chance

As Caleb’s troubles with Ryan continue, Lindsay can’t help but hold Ryan responsible, putting a strain on her already-tenuous relationship with Caleb; Seth and Summer find themselves thrown together; Sandy continues to keep secrets about Rebecca (guest star Delaney) from Kirsten; and Marissa’s new relationship with Alex progresses. Musician Rachael Yamagata performs at The Bait Shop.

Ryan still has troubles with Caleb, which puts his relationship with Lindsay in hot water. Seth, Zach, and Summer, plan their trip to San Diego to pitch their comic book. Rachel Yamagata performs at The Bait Shop.

Summer decides to take an active role in the making of the comic book, but Seth doesn’t know if he can handle spending that much time alone with her. Sandy and Rebecca reminisce about days gone by as Kirsten tries to convince Caleb that he could have a relationship with Lindsay. As Caleb decides what kind of future he wants to have with his daughters, Alex asks Marissa where their friendship is going.

A peacekeeping dinner for the fractured Nichols family takes a tragic turn after Ryan and Caleb butt heads hard enough to send one of them to the ER; Sandy keeps Kirsten in the dark about Rebecca’s return from the dead; Marissa toys with taking her friendship with Alex to the next level; Zach’s comic-book connections derail Summer and Seth’s plan to stay away from one another.

Hailey and Kirsten are at the hospital where Caleb is being taken care of. It seems Caleb was in a fire of sorts as he’s suffering burns over fifty percent of his body. An unshaven and wearing a rumpled suit Sandy arrives. His wife was worried because she hadn’t heard from him. Sandy says he fell asleep at work. Julie is in Paris.
