InsidePulse’s WWE Smackdown! Report 2.03.05

Hey, what’s up, your favorite SD! recapper in the whole world is here, as well as your favorite Royal Rumble recapper.

JBL is still WWE Champion, but for how long?

First, JBL has a rugged Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match scheduled for No Way Out against Big Show.

Now, General Manager Theodore Long has also announced there will be a SmackDown! tournament to determine the challenger for JBL, or Big Show, at WrestleMania.

Plus, could that match possibly be a three-way and include Royal Rumble winner Batista?

Meanwhile, Heidenreich had his worst fears realized by being stuffed into a casket by Undertaker Sunday and John Cena nearly won the Royal Rumble Match.

SmackDown! comes to San Jose, California, Thursday, and who knows what could be in store after the 2005 Royal Rumble?

But first…

My AIM name is WestRaven3, for anybody who wants to pop up and talk during commercials.

Taped from San Jose, California
Tazz & Michael Cole

Cena comes out immediately to start the show off. Cena instantly talks about controversy, and gives his best of luck to Batista, and even wishes him to come to SD! Long walks out, and the entrance area looks really odd because of this being a Super Show. Long says that tonight there will be a 8 man #1 contenders tournament started to determine the challenger for the WWE Championship at WM. JBL comes out, and asks what the hell is wrong with Long. He’s not happy about his cage match or the 8 man tournament. JBL demands the tournament be called off, and gets mad when Long calls him dog, cuz he doesn’t speack ebonics. Long says that the matches are still on, and makes Jordan/Cena for the tournament next week. JBL gets on Cena, and the fans chant “Shut up.” Jordan tries to jump Cena, but John throws him and FUs JBL.

Commercial break.

Angle comes out for the Kurt Angle invitational. He gets on the stick and says that he was satisfied with the RR, because he got to beat the hell out of HBK. He asks for the hometown boy and gets Nunzio. Apparently, he’s mad about Angle eliminating him in the RR to take his #.

We’re back with Taker getting Old School, and a choke into a slam for 2. Side slam, but Taker misses an elbow. Taker snaps Dupree on the ropes. Taker goes to take care of Reigns and Jindrak, allowing Dupree to baseball slide him. Rene distracts the ref, allowing Jindrak and Reigns to beat on the Deadman. Dupree gets caught on an axehandle attempt, and gets rammed into the steel post. Taker drops the leg onto Rene’s head, but Taker gets his leg caught on the rope rope. Rene goes to the knee, but Taker fights out, only to get kicked back down. Rene gets 2 off of that. Dupree gets a powerslam for 2. French Tickler, but Taker sits up. Backdrop, clothesline, and it’s Chokeslam time. Dupree gets out but Taker comes back with a DDT. Chokeslam, and Taker triangle chokes him. Jindrak pulls Dupree out, so Taker goes after him. The ref counts both of them out, causing a draw. Taker gets a Tombstone anyway.

Commercial break.

Tazz and Cole says that neither Taker or Dupree will advance, meaning that the winner of Rey/Angle will go straight to the final.
