InsidePusle’s WWE Afterburn Report

Archive

It’s February 12, 2005 and we’re on the air with WWE Afterburn!

Our host today is Josh Matthews. For the first time ever, WWE SD was in Japan and nobody could be any happier. Did you know everyone is buzzing for the #1 contender’s tournament? Matthews does.

Backstage, we see Kurt Angle, Luther and Mark. It is a big night. Angle will make Rey tap out. Angle blames Jindrak for not softening Rey up, but thanks Luther & Mark for getting Angle a bye in the semi-finals. How does beating Rey soften him up? Maybe if he powerbombed him through a table. Luther says he isn’t afraid of Undertaker or caskets, considering he was in prison. Huh?

JIP, Luther & Mark vs Bashams. Doug and Mark are legal. They slap each other and Doug takes him down with punches. Off the topes by Doug, Luther kicks him from behind and Mark gives him a huge right. Luther gets tagged and we got some kicks and an elbow. In the corner, kicks and a punch by Luther. Doug tries to fight back, nope. Two hard whip into the corner. Tag to Jindrak. Suplex, kipup and a few elbows by Mark. He tries an elbow drop with a Rude impression, but misses. Tag to Luther. Butterfly suplex gets a 2 count when Danny stops the count. Jindrak throws him to the outside. Mark holds Doug and Luther punches him. The Undertaker’s music plays and the lights go out. The lights come back and he’s behind them. Luther pushes Mark into the UT and gets clotheslined. Luther gets the F out. Snake Eyes, Big Boot and chokeslam to Jindrak! UT and Luther stare at each other.

We’re back with Josh talking about the barb wire match at No Way Out. JBL has been a fighting champion in his 8 month reign.

Backstage, we see JBL and Amy Weber. Shouldn’t she be giving JBL a lap dance? JBL says he’s been in a lot of bad matches, but this is the worst. Amy tells him Big Show might hear. JBL doesn’t care. JBL has something for Big Show: the tranquilizer gun that Angle used against Big Show. Amy gets the gun and accidentally shoots it at JBL.

Later on, Carlito Cool talks to some guy about the fact that Theordore Long will no longer be the GM. JBL shows up and makes fun of Carlito’s hair. OJ shows and asks where was he? JBL says “I was just talking to the racoon from Puerto Rico”. Funny. OJ tells him to wait right there. JBL, of course stoned, picks a fight with a lizard.

John Cena vs Orlando Jordan, first round. Lockup, OJ with a knee lift and forearms. In the corner, two shoulders to the stomach and an elbow. Whip, reverse, hiptoss by Cena. Fisherman suplex for a 2 count. Whip into the corner, a bunch of elbows. Another whip, Cena gets a big boot and a clothesline. A bunch of lefts and elbows for a 2 count. Cena with forearms, whip by Cena, reverse, powerslam by OJ for a 2 count. Chinlock. OJ with a suplex for a 2 count. Swinging neckbreaker for a 2 count. Whip, elbow for another two. Cena fights back with punches, a headbutt and a bunch of clotheslines. Side suplex into a powerbomb. Five knuckle shuffle and an FU for the cover, the count and the victory.

Afterburn returns with Josh talking about No Way Out and JBL’s attitude this week.

In the ring, we see JBL and the reptile. JBL keeps saying he isn’t afraid of the lizard. He compares it to Big Show. He takes his shirt off and asks for a fight. Oh no, not his pants. Big Show shows up. JBL keeps staggering and finally shows that it was hoax by giving him the Clothesline from Hell. What was the point of that? Well, Big Show did seem to be concerned. Bashams and OJ show up with a chair. They hold Show, but JBL misses. Chokeslam to Bashams and OJ!
