IGNFilmForce caught up with the Rock after receiving a lot of feedback from wrestling fans over his comments that he was “done” with World Wrestling Entertainment. He noted that the end of his official relationship with WWE ended quietly, with his own management team noting that it was over, saying, “Well, contractually, my contract was up at the end of last year and it was an interesting way it all came out. I wasn’t contacted or notified or anything like that. It wasn’t until my own team had basically congratulated me [saying], ‘Oh my God, what a wonderful career you’ve had. Congratulations!’ It’s like, ‘Really. It’s done?’ I wish it would have gone down a little bit different. For that part, I’m sad about it…” He said it “was one of those things that hit like a ton of bricks” but he was sure that the door was open to do something down the line. “But yeah, I do miss the fans, that part sucks that, you know what I mean, I can’t perform live like that. I’m sure I will one day… I love it, man. I love just, you know, live interaction…” The Rock referred to the rights to his name as a “dual ownership”, citing it was a deal he made several years ago.
