TNA Impact Report

First, we see stills from Against All Odds: Jeff Hammond’s victory, Hardy’s swanton, Styles retains the title, the man formally known as Billy Gunn and Sean Waltman appeared in the main event, and JJ retained the title.

We start in the RDS studios with Marc Blondin and Quebec’s own Pierre-Carl Ouellet, or as he wants to be called, PCO. And get this, for the first time in 10 years, he is NOT wearing an eye patch! Pierre rags on Blondin for calling him his good friend. How about Mr. Ouellet? That’s fine. They talk about Ouellet’s stint in TNA’s X division in the character of, well, X. Blondin once again admits that 2 weeks ago, they pretty much sucked, but they improved.

We see The Best Damn Sports Show, Period with Kevin Nash and JJ. Nash shoves JJ and DDP says that at AAO, JJ will be Nash’s bitch. Jarrett tries to hit Nash with the guitar, but DDP takes the blow instead.

Michael Shane (w. Kazarian) vs Ron Killings (w. Konnan & BG James): PCO lets us know that Shane was the X champion when PCO was there. Konnan and James do their intro. Blondin says that Dusty Rhodes stated that, win or lose, you have to impress him in order to get a spot in the 4-way Ultimate X match at Destination X with AJ Styles defending the title. Both men get arm wringers on each other. In one of the six corners, Shane beats Ron down. While down, Killing grabs the top rope and manages to go to the top. Dropkick to Shane. Right hands, whip, reverse, forearm by Ron. Back body drop by Shane, but Killings lands on the apron. Kazarian puts him down and lays a beating. Back in the ring, a forearm to the back gets a deux. Killings fights back, whip, reverse, duck, hiptoss/belly to belly by Shane for deux. Bodyslam by Shane. To the top, Killings crotches him. Then, Killings gives Shane an unnamed move, but Tabarnac, what a move! It’s kind of like the neckbreaker that Orton gave to Benoit at SummerSlam. Spinkick by Killings. Kazarian is on the apron and snaps Killings’ neck. Shane with a kick, suplex attempt, no, Shane gets pushed into Kazarian and one scissors kick later (eat your heart out Booker T), Ron Killings gets the un, deux, trrrrrrois!

Shane Douglas is with Christopher Daniels and asks how it feels to be that close to almost win the title. He says he had AJ, he was bloody, he was unconscious. He says he earned another shot at Destination X, because of a pinfall over AJ at AAO. If he has to go through the entire X division to get a title shot, he will. That’s not a promise, that’s the gospel (at least that’s what I heard).

The Naturals (w. Chris Candido) vs Lex Lovett & Buck Quatermain: Chase Stevens (I think) and Buck start it off. Back and forth they go until Chase gets a clothesline. We got a lot of quick tags here and the beating on Buck continues. Buck comes back with interesting neckbreaker. Tag to Lovett. Lovett whips Stevens and Stevens trips and falls out of the ring. Don’t know if it was intentional or not. Lovett and Buck get suplex/powerbomb on the Naturals. Candido on the apron, Candido off the apron. As Lovett goes outside, The Naturals get the Natural Disaster on Buck for the trrrrrois. Now, we have the Natural Disaster put on Lovett as well.

In Dusty’s office (a pickup truck), James Storm finds a cowbell and Dustin Rhodes gives Traci a contract to give to the DOA for a bullrope match at Destination X between Dustin and Raven. Abyss shows up with a contract in his hand and puts it in the best place ever: in Traci’s pants.

Phi Delta Slam(w.Trinity) vs Mikey Batts & Romeo: PDS debuted at the Against All Odds Pre Show as they defeated Lex Lovett & Buck Quartermain. There is one big guy, Bruno Sassy, and an even bigger one, Kevin something. This is basically a squash. They control Batts for awhile. Then, Romeo gets tagged in, does a few dropkicks, but it doesn’t matter as nobody goes down. Powerbomb by Bruno and a frogsplash (ESTI!) by Kevin for the un, deux, trrrrrrrois!

Commercials

Dusty Rhodes shows up with his cabinet, Traci and Trinity. The TNA title match at AAO was the most intense match that Dusty saw. Two matches for Destination X. Abyss vs Jeff Hardy in a falls count anywhere in the building, as well as outside. Jeff Jarrett’s next challenger for the title: Diamond Dallas Page. In the ring, DDP has the mic. It’s me, it’s DDP. Time is everything and he doesn’t know any better time than now for DDP to be the new heavyweight champion. DDP did not come to TNA for any other reason other than to win the TNA title. JJ will feel the bang! And out Jeff Jarrett comes. It’s time for DDP to get out of the ring and continue the JJ victory celebration. DDP has a decision to make: leave Planet Jarrett the easy way or leave it just like he did at the Superbowl. DDP says right now is the time and JJ goes in the ring for a brawl. JJ has the guitar, but DDP ducks and now he has the guitar. The New Age Outlaw shows up and it’s two on one. Kevin Nash is here and gets NAO out of the ring. Diamond cutter on Jarrett!

Commercials

JF Kelly talks about the independent shows in Quebec (NCW, ICW, FLQ, EWR, WTA, FCL, JCW, PWE and MWF). He really doesn’t seem to be comfortable in front of a camera.

Shark Boy vs Chris Candido vs Chris Sabin: The point once again, I guess, is to impress Dusty Rhodes in order to get into the Ultimate X match. Candido attacks both his opponents to start. They both fight back with punches, double whip, double back body drop and double dropkicks. Candido is out of the ring and Sabin & Shark lockup. Back and forth, Sabin gets two armdrags and a hurrincarana. Candido throws Sabin out of there and covers Shark for deux. Sweet dropkick from Sabin. Sabin and Shark trade covers on Candido. Shark with a neckbreaker on Sabin, Candido with a suplex on Shark and while Candido gets a suplex on Sabin, Shark gives a dropkick. Now, my favorite part of a 3-way match: the triple sleeper and a triple jaw breaker. More back&forth stuff, Candido gets body dropped out of the ring. Sabin gets a submission hold on Shark Boy. Now, something weird happens: Shark’s shoulder’s are down, Candido puts his feet on the ropes and covers Shark for trrrrrois. But here’s the thing, Sabin still had the submission hold on, which means that Sabin was covering him also. C’est etrange.

Commercials

Monty Brown vs Lance Hoyt (w. Kid Kash): After some stalling, Hoyt gets a knee lift in the corner. Whip, and Monty gets three clotheslines out of the ring.

Commercials

We’re back with Hoyt beating and choking Monty. Clothesline by Lance for deux. Monty with punches and Hoyt gets a sideslam for deux. Monty comes back with a side suplex. Two clotheslines to Hoyt and a fallaway slam. Monty knocks Kash from the apron, but walks into Hoyt boot. Hoyt arrogantly covers Monty. Lance has Monty on his shoulders, Monty fights it and gets the Pooooooounce. The lights go out and Trytan shows up and then disappears. Oookay.

We end it in the RDS studios. PCO continues to rag on Blondin. PCO had a great time broadcasting and he would rather have Letourneur out here. Ouellet gets the last word and says as far he goes, you haven’t seen anything yet. I hope so, but severely doubt it because Jacques Rougeau said the same thing back in 1998. A la prochaine!
