Assuming he’s recovered from his painful match at No Way Out, WWE Champion JBL surely will be in a festive mood when SmackDown! visits Philadelphia.
In dramatic and unusual fashion, JBL managed to hang on to his WWE Championship by surviving a bloody Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match against Big Show.
Now that Batista has decided to stay with RAW and face Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship, it will be John Cena and JBL one-on-one for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 21.
Cena, of course, defeated Kurt Angle in the final of the No. 1 Contender’s Tournament. Plus, SmackDown! has new WWE Tag Team Champions in Rey Mysterio & Eddie Guerrero and a new Cruiserweight Champion in Chavo Guerrero.
Also, embattled General Manager Teddy Long finally gets a decision from the WWE Board of Directors. Could his failure to lure Batista to SmackDown! help seal his fate?
And will Angle accept Shawn Michaels’ challenge for a match at WrestleMania?
