Anyone interested in knowing the whole plot and seeing photos form the whole story of Episode III? Check it out

So No Way Out is past and we’re just weeks away from Wrestlemania! I’m still not sure if I’m gonna be there this year, but we’ll have to see.

As far as the ending goes, I thought it was great. It was something finally felt like it came from the height of the WWE’s popularity. It was a good build to RAW the following day.

Speaking of the following day, I also thought it was great. Someone people have complained that there was no need for Hunter to reveal that he was behind it all cause it was obvious. I want to remind everyone that besides us teenage boys and grown men, the wrestling demographic also includes children. And they need things spelled out for them. And it made everyone else feel smarter. “I KNEW IT!” or “TOLD YOU SO!” if you were my buddy Lerman.

I can’t imagine why the WWE is thinking about bringing Big Vito back. They recently gave him a tryout dark match. I hope he got better cause I can’t remember him being good.

Poor Matt Hardy, rumors say that he and Lita are no longer an item. That’s a shame if the WWE is going to go forward with their plans of finishing up that story line. It appears the only bedroom tag teams to still be making it are HHH/Steph and Kidman/Torrie. What an immature way to deal with it on Matt’s part. He posted that he asked that all the photos of her be taken down and if you see Lita, you should ask her why. Very late high school/early college way of dealing with things. Why not leave things in your AIM profile and Away Messages directed at her, but open for the world to see. Or post depressing lyrics in your away messages or “Going to kill myself” as an away message? All I’m saying is that Matt Hardy should nut up about this.

My apologies ahead of time, no Meat and Potatoes this week, a heavy workload just fell into my lap unexpected. However, on March 28th, turn on HBO to watch “Perfect Upset” which chronicles the already overly-chronicled 1985 NCAA Tournament and the Big East’s involvement in it and eventually cocaine use.

It’s on at the same time as RAW, so tape it, but watch RAW live.

Mike Lawrence dropped a line that said:
Hamburglar says nice column!!

Wow, that was seriously the best attack against hate mail ever. Great job with the rest of the column too, as usual.

Check out Mike here. I’m surprised I didn’t get any jack-asses writing me about my column last week.

LAST WEEK’S BIG LINK was a poll with two questions.

  1. Do you read spoilers?
  2. Do you still watch the show?

64% read spoilers, 29% only read secondary shows and 5% don’t read them at all
47% still watch the show, 35% Watch only if the show sounds good and 17% don’t watch the show at all

Last week’s Big Link winner is seldee, who had this to say about spoilers:

I try to avoid spoilers at all cost unless I know I’m going to miss the show and even then I usually read the show recap not spoilers. To me spoilers take away from the excitement and the suspension of disbelief that is needed for wrestling viewing in the first place. If I already know who is going to win it’s hard for me to get into the match. Take this weeks Smackdown as an example. Cena wrestled Booker T in the quarter-final of the #1 contenders tournament. Now I didn’t read spoilers for this particular match, but everybody knows that Cena is being pushed for a spot at Wrestlemania (it’s one of those news stories that is almost impossible to avoid). I’m not really a big fan of Cena and I really like Booker T, but it was really hard for me to get behind Booker T because I was already 99% sure he was going to lose this match.

On the opposite end of the spectrum lets look at Wrestlemania XX. I was able to completely avoid spoilers for the main event. In my mind Benoit, HBK and HHH all had an equal chance of winning. I’m a huge Benoit mark so even if I knew he was going to win I probably would have enjoyed the match. However, not knowing who was going to win and really getting into this match (even screaming at the T.V. for HHH and/or HBK to tap dammit) it made this match so much better for me. I look back at that match as one of my favorites of all time.

Another good example of spoilers ruining things is the holy shit moments of when people show up unexpectedly. It doesn’t happen as much anymore with there really only being one big name company anymore but back in the day the biggest holy shit moment ever was when Razor Ramon showed up on Nitro. I was only casually watching wrestling at this point in time, this moment was what really got me watching wrestling hard core. I was glued to my seat and each surprise was great from Diesal, to Hogan turning then X-pac showing up. All of the twist and turns of the beginnings of the NWO were awsome but it wouldn’t have been as fun if I knew what was going to happen next.

Heck looking back I wish I hadn’t known that the WWF had bought WCW. It would have been the biggest holy shit moment ever to see Vince and Shane on Nitro.

Well I’ve rambled long enough I think, but bottom line spoilers are bad news IMO they take away from some of the show excitement.

He won because of the point of the sale of WCW. If I didn’t read the internet at all and, oh let’s say TONY DIDN’T F*CKING SAY IT EARLY IN THE SHOW, I would have sh*t a brick to see Vince suddenly on Nitro.

THIS WEEK’S BIG LINK is all about No Way Out. And it’s another poll. Check it out!

A step in the right direction
The WWE gave us what we wanted to see in Cena kicking the crap out of JBL to start his feud, Batista making an appearance and taking SOMEONE out and keeping them far away “just in case” they were gonna wind up fighting at Wrestlemania. Thumbs up.

#2 is courtesy of RAW
Is it turning face if he’s already getting cheered?
It was nice to see Dave take apart HHH on the show to kick off their Mania run. Now we’ll have to see who, if anyone, he aligns himself with next week and the weeks leading up to Mania.

Chris Masters’ debut
No, just kidding, that sucked and he hurt Stevie. Screw that guy.

#3 is really courtesy of RAW
Oh yeah, there are women on RAW!
Could we see Molly turn face? Could we see a four way or a three way at Mania? Will they acknowledge the women any further than this match? We’ll have to see. Trish has one more defense minimum before Mania, so we’ll see that when she beats Hemme.

THERE IS NO 10 COUNT TO RESPOND TO IN WRESTLING
I can understand why they gave Chavo the title, but it PISSED ME OFF how they eliminated Akio. That was crap, but the match was great. Paul London’s one of my favorite wrestlers today and ANY time when he’s on TV is a good time. I like the six cruisers they have going now and I’d like to see a few more introduced or re-introduced. (BY THAT I MEAN KIDMAN) And as an aside, what the hell was with London’s coat? He looked a lot like Kidman did when he turned heel as well.

My suggestion from my week of downloading

Kinda disappointed this week, nothing that really perked my interest.

Have a suggestion? E-mail me not only the match, but where I can get it from and why you like it as well.

Sorry about the lack of the Meat and Potatoes, but I’ll return with the full column next week.

See you next week, same Blatt time, same Blatt channel.
