It’s February 26, 2005 and we’re on the air with WWE Afterburn!

On Raw: Batista makes his choice. Why would Afterburn show this? Isn’t this supposed to be depressing to all us Afterburn fans?

In the ring, Angle is there. Tonight, he is not in the mood. The invitational continues with his opponent coming to the ring. Name: Matt Martel. From: South Philadelphia. Martel apparently wants to commit suicide by asking him how did it feel to lose at No Way Out. One clothesline later, the match begins.

Kurt Angle vs Matt Martel. Kicks by Angle. German suplex and belly to belly. Both times, he stopped the count. We got an STF, an Angle Slam and finally, an ankle lock for the tapout. Tazz is in the ring for an interview. Footage from Raw is shown with an HBK challenge. Angle takes the mic. After the fans chant “HBK”, he drops the microphone and leaves.

We are invited to JBL’s celebration of excellence.

Afterburn returns with Josh talking about JBL and how he may be the greatest champion in history. We get footage from NWO where JBL left the ring first.

In the ring, JBL and his cabinet are having a party. The floor is carpeted and there is a portrait of JBL. JBL praises himself as usual. It is a miracle that he won the match against Big Show. He proved the critics wrong. Darn right! Batista did not want to come to SD because he knew he would lose. Now, JBL turns his attention to his WM opponent, John Cena. He is nowhere near his league. The Big Show interrupts, beats up the guests and breaks stuff. In the ring, the cabinet gets in control with OJ hitting Show with a Champaign bottle. Tied to the ropes, JBL punches Show. Cena comes, clears the ring and breaks the portrait on JBL’s head. Now, Theodore Long comes. What now? He makes a match: JBL & OJ vs Cena & Show.
