Take it with a grain of salt for now, but according to a seemingly reliable insider, Brandon Routh might be about to lose his Superman role, before Warner Bros. even shoots one roll of film of him.
A reader claims that he crossed paths with a scooper in the Superhero Hype forums, who apparently has got word of a few alarming developments on Superman.
“He told me that last week, he and his friend (Warner employee, apparently) had dinner and this gentleman told him that the WB is well aware of the fans disappointment in Routh! He also said his friend told him that several WB employees and WB management have surfed online to many different Superman websites and forums and were shocked to hear some of the things people said about Brandon Routh. He also was told by his friend that a HUGE board meeting is scheduled this week and even though Superman Returns starts “production” in less than two weeks, that there is still a chance that Welling could be signed on as the STAR!!! He said that over the last few months the WB has been well aware of how some fans have been upset and that they have voiced there opinions well with letter, telephone calls, and emails. He told me he would keep in touch with me through emails and let me know if anything comes from this meeting this week. Take this for what its worth everyone, something inside of me says that there is at least a 50% if not 60% chance that this is REAL news. Mostly cause this guy gave me his office email address”, says the reader.
